Newcomer / Intro No route available - how do I get to my target system?

I'm about to leave my start system and surrounding systems.

My target system is 107ly away and the route option in the galaxy map is red.


The whole system grid on the map is very confusing and I don't know if planning a route in the "right direction" gets me where I wanna go.
