No Settlement Loot: Post Maintenance

For the last week, I am been zipping around tourist settlements to farm cocktail recipies. Sometimes I will come across an empty settlement, take out some scavs, get out my trusty power core and re-power the place and scavenge multiple data points without worrying about getting caught - had no issues (other than running for my life when I take my power core back and 20 scavs spawn lol).

I have spent the last two hours of my life doing just that with a few key differences:

1) Multiple disconnects
2) No data in data ports - not something that has happened before
3) No lootables of any kind in settlements

I have gone to supercruise, gone to a new settlement (either populated or empty) and found no data available.
I have docked at a station, then back to the settlement and found no data available.
I have jumped to another system and, then back in, gone to another settlement and found no data available.

Clearly a bug. Issue Tracker

From the observations by other CMDR's the issue appears to linked directly to PP 2.0. Any system not involving a power are the ones being affected.

Edit: So this Duplicate is a literal copy/paste of my original Issue Tracker. FDev in their "inifinte" wisdom have decieded to mark the former (which has very view votes) as confirmed, while leaving the original (which has a lot of votes) as acknowledged. Please vote on both.

I collect recipes in the bubble in case a CMDR wants to head to Colonia to do engineering.
It wasn't an issue collecting them in colonia until maintenance. Found 3 in the last 3 days. ALways at least something in the data point, but now all the data points are empty, all the lockers, even the locked ones.

I'm just on a mission to reactivate a tourist site, will see if it corrects the problem - NOPE. ZERO lootables in the entire settlement outside of ammo boxes, medkits and energy cells. Locked lockers and containers empty. Data ports all empty. Nothing.

Feel free to chime in FDev because this looks like a major bug - it is as if the game is viewing me as having logged out and then back in while in a settlement, which is not the case.

Took a taxi 35ly (I had some data to sell). Took a taxi down to the nearest settlement. Annoyed a guard until he shot me. Woke up in detention centre. Took taxi back to my ship. Dropped down to nearest settlement - no data, nothing out in the open, nothing in containers, nothing in lockers.

Well, I'm all out of ideas. Guess mat farming is off the table for me. Wasted 4 hours on this now. Hardly the experience you want someone returning to the game to have, is it?!

It's probably the disconnects. It's the same effect as a relog, which clears the settlement of mats and data.
I'd agree but I logged out, logged back in, jumped to a new system, super-cruised to a planet - no loot/data spawns.

I've also been logged in for a couple of hours now, with no disconnects, doing missions for rewards, across multiple star-systems and settlements, and again - no loot/data spawns in any of them.

it's a bug, whether localised to my account, or only a small number of accounts, but it is obviously a bug - and a major one given the impact on mat farming.

Same here. Been doing missions for mats in Fullerene for the last 2 weeks. Now, after the update... nothing. Disconnects or relog have nothing to do with it. They just fail to spawn. So far, mission items at crash sites, do spawn. But in settlements, nah.

This is already reported on the issue tracker, so it's wait and see.

Yeah, crash site missions are on a different spawn. As long as you don't pick up the mission object you can logout and back in and everything will have respawned, but in settlements it wipes the spawns completely.

I have also verified the game files and it made no difference. Sorry it is happening to you too, but I'm glad I'm not going insane.

PS: I reported it on the issue tracker when I made the forum post.

Not for nothing, but I count at least 3 times this has been reported on the Issue Tracker and none of them have been acknowledged ... any word, FDev?

While I initially thought this was a settlement only problem, it appears to be affecting crash/distress sites too. The one small exception is a container with a mission item in it will also spawn other items, but the other containers will be empty.

not sure if this is connected to the problem i'm getting since the latest update. i cannot transfer odyssey materials via storage between ship and carrier. it would just give a "selected resource no longer available" message. also unable to purchase stuff from bartenders which returns a transaction error

Also, SRV's are still lootable.

They probably changed some settlement loottables to balance some things out and maybe made a typo, which causes the parser to fail and not load the items.

Not an issue for me, but doesn't mean it might not be related. Both things require a confirmation from the matchmaking system - at least from what I can tell given past error messages.

Just to add: This problem exists in both Solo and Open play modes ... and is getting very very annoying at this point. Would love to hear if anyone is not having this problem.

Odyssey is 3 years old. Most have already grinded the mats. And now, with Ascendancy, most are into the Mandalay or PP. So, not a lot are that bothered with this, I guess.
Still, most mats can be earned as mission rewards, so it's still doable. Actually, by stacking missions for specific mats, gets you faster to upgrades and mods than looting.

What's got the bee in my bonnet is that I need Faction Associates and Cocktail Recipies to unlock the last 2 engineers in Colonia. Neither of which I am seeing as mission rewards.

So, I have a choice:

1) Fly back to the bubble and get my teeth into the new PP content, which I am itching to do, and then at some point waste 12 hours of my life on a round trip to Colonia to do unlocks that I should be able to do now.
2) Come to the forums and poke FDev until they do something about it.

Heck I'm more than willing to grind missions for the other mats I want, but without the two data I mentioned above I'm effectively stuck with that no-win choice. Which leaves FDev with a few choices:

1) Acknowledge and fix the bug
2) Increase frequency (or add) Faction Associates and Cocktail Recipies to mission rewards
3) Deposit 6 Faction Associates and 6 Cocktail Recipies into my storage
4) Put up with an increasingly frustrated customer who paid out money for a fully functionning product.

As a workaround, it might be worth checking if you can buy them from a nearby FC on Inara? (inara components search). Though this can also be frustrating because the data gets out of date quickly.

I watched a streamer loot a dark settlement repeatedly last night with no problem finding Odyssey mats, data or otherwise. This was in the Bubble, the CMDR was pledged, and the system was occupied by some Powerplay Power (mentioned in case any of that makes a difference).
