No ships to join in MC 1:00, server time

Playing in the US Midwest...not finding any ships to join in Open or Mobius. :(

Around 8PM CDT

Is this a bug or network issue? Anyone else having luck?

Everything looks normal...I'm seeing other commanders in Open just fine.

Ping seems a bit high 717ms

Ok, so I just kept selecting different MC scenarios...eventually got connected to an explorer type, even though the numbers of available ships never resolved.

Got to see the alien crash site and fly around it in an SLF...took some pics, had a nice convo, and made a new friend.

Buggy as all get out right now, but it was fun.

I think I'll try again after a patch or two.

ETA - my friend just got the game today. I'll see if the whole invite system works so I can show him the ropes.

It's an "interest" issue. My crystal ball predicts this will end the same way CQC and Powerplay have.

IDK, MC resonates with me quite a bit more than CQC or Powerplay. The cooperative nature of it, I feel, fits quite well with how I want to play. I don't think I'm terribly alone in that.

It was like this all the way through Beta too, don't hold your breath for this to be a working mechanic.

When I tried it out in Beta 2 (or whichever they turned it on in) it worked quite well for me. A couple disconnects here and there but nothing that was too troublesome.

I had hoped it was more ironed out by release...hmm

Available ship numbers stopped showing for me with b5. Had a 3h session today with an IRL mate, not a single DC. If this community drops a feature because grinding something gets more cr/hr this community doesnt deserve any gameplay. *shrug*

You're absolutely not alone. There's major appeal in the idea of multicrew, but the implementation (as seems to be the case often with ED) is a problem.

Are you in Europe or Brittain?

Finding a stable connection has been nigh on impossible for many people in Australia.

I'm 1% off from going to Deadly, so the payouts aren't going to hurt me...even still, credits are ancillary to my enjoyment of the game as I have all the Imperial ships I want. I really do hope people try it out for the coop side of things. It is actually quite fun.

US Midwest, not far off from a fiber backbone. I usually only have issues when I play on my days off and have a lot of European players.

Perhaps it's a lack of interest. As an explorer, MC currently doesn't have much to offer.

I'd suggest flying your ship and allowing others to join you, if you can't find anyone else to join. Do watch out for griefers though, someone mentioned they had a MC member take off in a SLF and attack their ship.

Certainly a quick kick then block solves that, I'd think.

Though, I can see people not wanting to offer up their own ships. I know I'm hesitant to do that...mostly b/c I don't like the idea of handing over control of my heat sink, chaff, and SCB.

Try docking at a station first. Not sure if it's related, but I had the same issue in Beta. I think you cannot join a MC in any situation where you can't also log out without a timer.

I'm docked at Dalton Gateway. Doing a bit of MC while I wait for his maiden voyage.

Yeah, but it was an explorer build, with paper-thin shields. It's worth noting, just so you're aware of the possibility.

That won't affect me. My Asp has no SLFs, nor does it even have weapons. I depend on avoiding interdictions and sturdy shields, in the rare case when I'm successfully interdicted.

Ah, good point...I forget about the vulnerability of some of the super-jumpers. Personally, my exploration fits don't leave the bubble without a decent shield.

That's smart. When you leave and return to the bubble you have to pass through some anarchy systems.

"Super-jumpers": I like that! My engineered Asp can get up to 56 lyrs per jump. When I'm in the bubble, like I am now, it's still 40+ without all the D-rated modules, even when carrying cargo. It was a lot of work to engineer, but it was worth it. My ship's name is "Into the Black", but I'm considering a Dolphin explorer (just for variety) and I think I'll name it Super-Jumper.

Maybe I will enable MC for my ship after all. That way I can demo neutron star jumping and other explorer techniques to others.

I'd be willing to bet that the popular personalities in this game would have full ships a lot of the time if people knew they were looking for others to join.

If people equate this feature to how they use the Dungeon Finders/LFG in other games though, it will likely be as you say.

Finally dropped into a Python looking for a Bounty Hunting crew. I said "Greetings" and was then kicked out. Either I need to swap out my Imperial arm patch (lol) or they were just trying things out.
