No shipyard on Obsidian Orbital - Is this intended?

Or is it because of all the UA/barnacle/alien/unidentified ship bogus going on there, you know, damaged station systems, suspended services and so on...?

I didn't really follow the whole UA storyline, I only remember reading that other stations were shut down because of UAs damaging their systems (never went there and checked what that actually meant though). Now I've just started an explorer CMDR on my 2nd account and intended to put my exploration ships (4 planned) on OO along with a taxi into the bubble where a multipurpose FAS would be stored. But yesterday I went to Maia just to find that Obsidian Orbital is now officially the only starport I know that doesn't have a shipyard... :O[sad]

So...
Is Obsidian Orbital not having a shipyard temporary or aren't we allowed to set up a base (i.e. store ships) there?

It was built as a result of a community goal, services were unlocked as it hit reward tiers, it didn't reach the tier for the shipyard.

The community goal never reached the tier for a shipyard. Hopefully it will change in the future, I'd really like to move my explorer fleet from Sothis to Maia.

That CG was terrible. Computer components? Who the hell would trade that?

lol, lot's of people did! We seriously cranked out some runs to Kaushpoos in those days...I only had an AspX and I placed pretty well considering my small hold!

That Cg singlehandedly got me from DBS to a clipper.. or well one of the kaushpoos CG's did because the rank requirement was off around that time period when the new empress was crowned.

So that's why... Damn, I went to Obsidian yesterday to see if I could buy a miner ship to profit from the Merope metallic Ring, but when I arrived there... SURPRISE ! (yeah, I should've checked beforehand, I know).

I put in 4,500 tonnes, but I really wanted my ducking station. i don't see how any min/maxer would participate.
