No Steam Odyssey update?

I have an email of order completion from May 4th, I see the order completed on Frontierstore.net for Odyssey, I have/had Steam linked to the Frontier site. There is no key under the Partner Keys, there is no key listed on my completed order, I have no email with a Steam key. Game will not update past the 1.7GB update, cannot use the launcher as it is telling me I have to update on Steam. Help?

I'm downloading the update from Steam now, started about 90 minutes ago. Make sure you don't have the launcher open or Steam could think you are currently playing the game and won't update it.

People are able to update it through Steam, I am not able to, the launcher is not open. It might be because I purchased from Frontier.net, not Steam, but my accounts are linked. A twitch streamer I have been watching was able to update, but he purchased it through Steam

It's a minor thing I know, but "first to" discoveries are a thing in this game... so seems a little un-levelled if Steam players can download before Frontier account owners especially given the rumoured massive size of the download and not everyone has a phat internet pipe.

If it's not working its maybe because you have bought the expansion throught the frontierstore so you'll have to start the launcher manually for now (and hopefully we'll get steam keys in the future, as FDEV did with Horizons)

I bought as part of the Lifetime Expansion pass , that was before it was steam,. but transferred it to Steam years ago. I've logged a ticket with Frontier.

Same, from my chat with Frontier Help on Twitter - Dragonfly...I have now submitted a ticket. I can launch the launcher now at least, but the option to install Odyssey from the launcher is greyed out. Closing the launcher does not prompt for Steam update.

I've now launched the Elite Loader (which steam uses) but without Steam. I had to log in again and now the Odyssey has a blue install button available, I think it is now installing.....

Same experience here. Premium Beta in 2014, so unlimited updates. I could, if I wanted, download the regular FD Launcher, but prefer to use Steam, as I can change VR properties prior to launch, in the Per App options in SteamVR.

If I break down and decide to use the FD Launcher, do I direct it to the steamapps/common/elite dangerous folder to sync the files so I don't download the same files twice?

Thats what I have done, it is now installing . Its placing files under the steam location anyway. Once completed I’ll relaunch from steam and see what it does, I’m guessing it wont reinstall, but I could be wrong...

If the "install" button appears greyed out, you guys should do the following:

in the Steam games list, right click over Elite dangerous and click over "Properties", then "Local Files", then "Explore folder" or whatever.
This will take you to the game folder, then just click over "EDLauch", choose Elite Dangerous Odyssey, then "UPDATE" ;-)

Update So After running the Steam Launcher (Clicking Directly Not through Steam client) , The game has installed. I then relaunched under Steam and the Launcher worked with no issue and Odyssey was available to play. The Servers are still showing upgrading in the UK region but the game did launch then alerted me to the server not being available, which is expected.

Downloading through the FD launcher now. I knew about the EDLaunch option in the steam folder but figured thats what was coming up anyway with the greyed out option. After installing the FD launcher and using the EDLaunch option it is working so far.

Found a solution in another post. Even with the option greyed out, I can press Enter on the install button and the installation process starts.

Just an update as well, after using EDLaunch and installing, then closing the launcher and launching it through Steam if works with only "can't connect to Frontier servers" now due to them being down atm.
