No success with deep core mining (aka Void Opal farming)

For me, I was able to do Penneyless to Elite trader in one day. So that was over a Billion credits.

I do disagree with GoryDamnPixie on one thing just going downward directional thrusters. The best idea is to learn to get in any thrusters direction depending on how close the fissure is. If you have the head look control on the joystick or keyboard or some type of VR setup it can help locate fissures faster. Because you can look at a fissure and lock on it and use any thruster direction to go around the asteroid.

Otherwise, GoryDamnPixie has great ideas.

Adding my 2 cents to the already good advice above:
1. Keep the Pulse Wave trigger held on: there's an effect on the 2nd ping where core roids get a bunch of black and red lines: aanother helpful tell it's a core roid.
2. To fill my 128t Clipper, I generally travel around 1,000 kms, boosting through the field and with around 120 limpets.
3. Using headlook/mouselook, I'll scan across my view so I can spot cores to my left and right.
4. You really do not need to travel anywhere: there's plenty of VO hotspots (and LTD prices are great as well) all over the bubble. I haven't noticed much difference between pristine/common/depleted reserves - a core roid is a core roid, but maybe someone else has done proper science.
