I thought horizons was going to be a 64 client only expansion. Why would it offer the 32bit client? Which I presume is already installed.

They are working on the issue right now. I'm just going to keep my current install and let them fix the launcher.

Just checked this. I do not get the option to install, but it does show client as 32 bit now. I'm guessing this is just to help distinguish between the 32bit and 64bit when it is released, as you'll be able to play the base ED with the 32bit or 64bit, but can only play Horizons on the 64bit.

where did you put the installer? may need to be in the folder containing "EDLaunch" folder

If that is accurate, they are saying some people won't have the option in downloadable products because they pulled it.
I;m not so sure. I had to ticket them last year to get anything at all in my downloadable products page.

I just think the new installer wants us to validate the current install, but the main button only has 'Install' or 'Play' states. I had the same thing with only an install option being shown even though the base game was already installed. Clicking on install did nothing more than sync my local files. Once this was done the 'Play' button appeared as would otherwise be expected.

I'm not pressing that install button until I know for sure it's not going to install a different version and eat up hard disk space (of which I do not have much) or messes everything up with my current install.

In the meantime I cannot play either ships or horizons beta - gets to the main menu then says cannot connect to server. My flatmate sitting about 5 feet away is happily landing on moons. Must. Not. Kill!

So, can't play the betas, can't play the actual game. So no Elite for me today :( Could watch someone ELSE play but that's no fun. I'm off to bed and hope this will be sorted when the servers get back up to speed!

If you are logging in via Steam forget it.

Go to your account download a new client, validate it and then login direct to the client ignoring steam. You should get the extra option.
