No win scenario.

I'm in the Sirius system, bounty hunting for the defence of the summit. Yesterday I lost 2 ships in quick succession. Cruising back to the Spirit of Laelaps, when I came under FSD interdiction. Before I could even start to evade the interdiction I drop out of FSD. Then, before I can even identify who is attacking me boom, my ship is destroyed. The whole thing takes about 20 seconds. Has this happened to anyone else? It's so frustrating.

Seems a bit sus but might be network related.

Are you in Open?
What are you flying?
How is it outfitted?

Interdictions no matter what should not be lost instantly.
You should always have plenty of time to identify the attacker. At a minimum they have to deploy their hardpoints which takes a second or more (depending on size and type of hardpoints).
There is no way your ship should go boom instantly before you can identify your attacker even if you are flying shieldless sidewinder.

If in open it might be natural to assume a cheater but let's make sure first you are not exaggerating in anyway and see what you are flying. If it was against another player, i might assume network issues firstly before jumping to conclusions.

an immediate way to loose the interdiction is to put the throttle to zero.

can you rule that out, even accidentally?

i have "throttle zero" on space-key and stop when i check discord or do other things.

I was in the open, on supercruise assist, I didn't accidentally zero my throttle. The only warning I got, was "thermal attack" seemed like before I'd finished slowing down from FSD. I'm fliying an FDL.

Can you post your FdL build?
Do you have Inara?

I'd say you've been pulled by a ganker and subsequently destroyed.
Thermal attack is a sign for plasma accelerators, which are the current PvP meta.
With thermal conduit, a full FdL salvo can destroy a badly built FdL in seconds.

.... Which could mean you had zero'd your throttle, which means instant interdiction loss...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't necessarily have to zero throttle on supercruise assist.
But the SAssist turns off in case of interdiction iirc, so having the throttle on zero submits automatically, and
having the throttle on "non-zero" makes you lose the interdiction if you don't pay attention.

You don't have to, but you can zero the throttle. I often do, so I don't ram the station if I'm busy being annoyed on the forums ;)

If you have set a zero throttle then sca will disengage on interdiction, you already set the zero throttle, then you drop. Ofc OP may not have zero'd the throttle, but if they're using SCA in open....

There were many gankers in sirius last night.
Not all bad tho, collected some sizeable bounties from a few.
Plus had great pew pew with a couple aswell, they thought a vipers was easy pickings lol

The first time I was jumped by another played in Open (and CG systems are always going to be high traffic) I was at the rebuy screen mere seconds after submitting to the interdiction, which is either disheartening or hilarious depending on how you look at it. A dedicated gank ship is probably set up to melt a target before they can escape or, more depressingly, before the 15 second menu log. If you check your comms panel it should have a record of live players encountered and who killed you, and if you send them a friendly message they’ll often be happy to help you with you build or evasion, and with a little practice you’ll find yourself getting more proficient at evasion and escape (otherwise known as squealing like a stuck pig and thrashing the controller around wildly in a panic if you’re me!).

Ganking can either be an adventure or an annoyance depending on how you look at it, if it’s not the gameplay you’re looking for there’s no shame in flying in Solo or PG, it’s what they’re there for. I haven’t done a CG for a while but I normally do a session or two at them in Open as a concession to the ‘living galaxy’ and for a little spice, then drop down into Solo so I can play more or less uninterrupted by invitations to PvP that’s not really my thing.

Happened to me last night as well, although I lasted a bit longer in the Corvette before they could pull me out of supercruise. It also took them a fair bit longer before they managed to finally blow me up. LOL.
They were flying a Corvette and a Krait, I think. Cost me 20 Mil in bounties.
Anyway, I got their names and on Thursday I'm getting my Cytos, then I'm going hunting, interested to see how quickly I'll be able to chew through their prismatics.

Against anything other then possibly a Corvette you won't come close enough to use your Cytos.
Good luck trying, keep PvPing, but be prepared to lose more hulls (which is normal in PvP)...

I'm just a dabbler in PvP and that's my rebuy statistics
Total claim costs 509,398,455 Cr

I got enough credits and I don't mind the rebuy screen. I do get annoyed at the wasted time collecting those bounties. Just once I really want to pound the schoolyard bullies into tiny little pieces of twisted metal, bone fragments and seared flesh 😂😂

I've faced interdiction plenty of times in SAassist and never had the throttle go to zero.
My build twin 2F gimballed pulse lasers and multi-cannons, a rail gun in my huge hard point. Got all A's in my core. I saw a build with 4 x pulse lasers and a multi-cannon in the huge hard point, thinking of trying that.

If I read this correct, you use no engineering and a class 2 weapon in a class 4 slot.

Next time some player interdicts you better stop and let your enemy put you out of your misery, will be easier for all involved

Jokes aside, without a dedicated fully engineered build close to the meta, you don't stand a snowballs chance in hell against players who
do nothing except killing other players in game for years. And even with such a build it will take months to be competitive.

Kudos for trying, but be prepared to be destroyed. A lot... 😜
