Non Combat Zone Thargoid encounter sought by inexperienced but enthusiastic male

I'm keen to try my laughable skills against a Thargoid Cyclops, I hadn't realised that the indicated Thargoid places around the Witch Space nebula would be Combat Zones, which are not what I want. Where would I be likely to come across a solitary Thargoid (threat 5) signal?

Many thanks. :)

Pleiades, Witch Head or Coalsack. The places with AX conflict zones still spawn NHSS which can contain lone interceptors.

Note emphasis on "can" there, you can still get scout spawns, which attack instantly. There's no avoiding that.

Edit: Ninja'ed

I'm not sure what you mean by combat zones. Tons of lvl 5 non-human signals in systems at and near Witch Head nebula.
Well, I went to Wellington system because of those Thargoid arttack symbols, but all I found initially were Thargoid Combat Zones. I've just found a Threat 5 in a nearby system - many thanks. :)

I started out hunting Threat 5 's in Celaeno operating out of Artemis Lodge. You might give AX CZs a second thought though. While they can be a bit hectic, the larger number of allied ships give you the opportunity to practice different parts of the AX engagement for longer periods than you can get with a straight-up Threat 5. I used to struggle with getting the timing right on hitting Thargons with the Remote Release Flak Launcher. AXCZs gave me the opportunity to practice on Cyclops, Basilisk, and Medusa swarms without having to worry about the interceptor frying my ship.

Bug Killer crash site. HIP 16613, planet 1a. There is almost always one, and occasionally 2 Interceptors present. Usually Cyclops, but sometimes a Basilisk. They do not aggro unless you get really, really close or open fire on them.
