Thargoids discovered in system Hyades Sector BV-X B1-3!

This just happened 3 minutes ago. Was honking my way through a system and happened upon a non- human signal source. Obviously it was Thargoids.

When I dropped out of SC I was immediately attacked.
Luckily I boosted ...and jumped to the next system with only a few scrapes and bruises.
Didn't stick around too long, for obvious reasons, but I counted at least 5 smaller ships on my radar before escaping.

The Pleiades and surrounding area are full of Thargoids. They've been there as long as I've been visiting but a few weeks ago they seemed to be getting a little more violent. I was trying to return to Artemis Lodge and turn in some missions only to be interdicted for my first time. After they scanned me and took off I proceeded to Artemis in the aftermath of a Thargoid attack (last I looked it's still under repair), I helped with the evacuation and before leaving the area noticed 1-2 other stations had been attacked that same morning.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty new to this.
But since my last post I ran into more, still. A rather large one rammed into me (...and it seemed like quite on purpose) damaging my hull greatly, before opening fire on me. (I'm exploring, hence I have no weapons. Not that I feel they would have done any good).
Long story short... I was destroyed in seconds (mass lock kept me from SC ...and I couldn't boost away fast enough).

Correct me if I am wrong (most likely as I don't know too much about thargoid stuff), but don't they only attack you if you are carrying something they don't like? Probes, artifacts or whatever the thargoid goodies are called these days.

Personally only been attacked by thargs I have shot first (how dare they slow down my trip to Maia). Usually they scan you and leave, in my experience.

Like I said, I could be way off the mark but that is my own experience with them.

If you get hyperdicted they are passive, you could be a unarmed explorer as it's completely random.
If you drop into a threat 7 NHSS you are asking for it...

Not unless you had something more than the standard stuff, like Guardian weapons. Not too long ago I made the mistake of dropping into a non-human signal source in a Diamondback Explorer fitted out for exploration. I wasn't very near the Pleiades and saw a lone signal in an empty system that had one star and nothing else. I was like "I wonder what this is all about..." and completely forgetting that I was in a very weak exploration ship I dropped in out of curiosity. It was a Threat Level 9 too. Immediately I'm getting lit up and escape but with no shields, hull damage and my first encounter with a corrosive attack. I had to overheat my ship to burn off the infection and came out of the whole mess with only about 10% hull Lesson learned!!! It would have been very irritating if I'd gotten killed because I was returning from 2 days of exploring out by the Orion Nebula, Barnard's Loop and all that good stuff. I had a lot of exploration data, no first discoveries or anything but it would have made me REAL mad if I had lost all that time/data because of my own stupidity. I still don't know what I was thinking. Maybe I was a little space happy and after two days of not seeing any other ships just wanted a little company... even Thargoid company.

Going 'goid hunting tonight! Will be on the lookout for these NHSS, thanks for the heads up. I killed a bunch of scouts last night testing out my new Krait mk II Anti-'Goid build. I'm a greenhorn 'goid hunter, but I haven't died yet. Still need to take on an Interceptor, but I needs Gauss Cannons first. Was in a full wing with other human commanders last night taking these suckers on, it was good fun. Oh and I'm in love with the Krait now, it's my new favorite ship. Grade 4 DD and it zips around almost as good as a small fighter. I have no problem keeping up with the much smaller, highly maneuverable scouts.
