I found a bunch of disabled ships around a Thargoid ship that was in combat mode. There was a Thargoid Probe in the vicinity, but before I could get it scooped up, the Thargoids tractor-beamed it in. Looking after the fact, they also got an Occupied Escape Pod. Processing video for upload...

Video of 2nd encounter once it uploads (first one is having difficulties processing). Note that the Thargoid only gets hostile (turns red) when I get too close, but does not fire on me...I have time to get some distance before it goes back to doing what it was doing.

First Thargoid encounter on my way to Maia, ASP Explorer unarmed, nicely modded.
Interdicted by a DBX jumping from Aries Dark Region to GW-W D1-35 to HIP 17044.
I submitted, jumped out and was hyperdicted in witch-space by what seemed to be 2 alien ships.
(1) turned its attention on me, while (2) seemed to fly away. Systems failed, (1) scanned me and systems came back on again. I approached it and turned lights on, revealing the ship's color to be white/greyish.
It kept the same distance for most of the time but let me get as close as 75 m. I was going full speed most of the time
(2) had vanished.
I tried to boost (5A) around it to see it's back side, but it's 'eye' never turned away from me. During this operation I accidently rammed it.
It turned dark/greenish with reddish parts, and opened fire. Shields (3C bi-weave) were gone instantly but I could boost away. Don't know why and how, but I had the impression, it did not want to kill me.
Unfortunately I was not recording but took as many pics as possible. There seems to be some kind of symbol next to the 'eye'.
