Non-productive time in Elite

I've played this game in VR since the Alpha and it's always felt like Euro truck simulator in space. I know people say it's not a sim, but to me it is and it's the coolest thing I've ever played! Yes it feels like a job, but your job is flying a spaceship so I'm pretty ok with that! :p
 
I dont mean removing time in SC and the other things but smoothing them out a bit.

The Planet approach would in my opinion be much better if the different stages were merged into one decsent without hickups.
 
The best thing to do with a game that is primarily centred around flying a space ship is to remove all the bits where you are required to fly a space ship!
 
I think the game would be much more fun if we could get rid of the non-productive time like extended SC travel, the cumbersume planet approach with orbit-glide etc. The slow speed in normal space. And many other time consuming things that dont add anything to the gameplay except to make it boring.

Actually, this SuperCruise fix is asked for on a weekly basis.

Planetary approach, I'm sorry. This isn't going to change any time in any near future. We can't change the way an airplane takes off or lands in real time... And lord knows the only way that the Shuttle landings ever changed was to stop the launchings for them. What makes you think that it'll change in this game?

Although as a supplement, I believe it's been suggested a better method of going to a coordinate on a planet.. Rather routinely I might add.

I'm rather surprised you didn't attack... errr, suggest... changing hardpoints and utility mounts when in outfitting. That is a massive amount of time waste.. So much so, it was complained about in this video:
