Ship Builds & Load Outs Noob Mining Outfitting

I want to outfit a ship for mining. I haven't done anything but exploration so I would like some advice on this Type 6 miner (it's all I can afford at the moment). Will this work for mining? I am unsure about the power generator and coupler:

i'm not the best miner around but i learn from my mistakes each time (i'm a fighter), this is what i know so far about mining:
- 1: you need a balance between how much cargo you have (obviously as much as possible) and how many drones will work at the same time, the more you have running, the faster you will mine = more credit per hour
- 2: you need to prioritize what kind of minerals/metals you will take, try to take the most valuable and dish the rest
- 3: you need to go only on pristine/rich metal areas (obviously), you can know that by looking at your system map
- 4: and lastly, you can multiply by 3 (if not more) your credits if you do mining missions

in the build i made for you, you have 64t of total cargo, 3 drones running at the same time, 1 prospector to focus on the most valuables resources, a 7 bin refinery which should be enough, and a chaff just in case let you run away

if CMDR Veth comes around maybe you could ask him a few more advices

Edit: ho one last thing, to run this build you need to set your Frame Shift Drive on low priority (highest number)

Thanks! I've increased my cargo and added the chaff launcher as my first time out to a pristine ring I was blown up by an NPC and I could not escape (being in a ring of roids means mass locked for quite a while).

Other than telling me if an asteroid is depleted, what other effects does a prospector drone give me? I am feeling like I should just unequip it.

Prospector limpets are useless IMO, you can get all the info with just mining laser...
I used this loadout to mine, collection drones have bugs ATM, which make using more then one drone almost useless. Fuel scoop is there because i mined in uninhabited system ~80LY away from nearest station, it can be replaced with another cargo rack if not needed...

I would remove the prospector limpets, unless you need to find a specific material asap.
Having lots of refinery bins means you spend less time sorting your refinery but you tend not to mine more than 7-8 materials at any given time. As long as a asteroid contains something I need I mine everything and the jettison the stuff I don't need when I need the cargo space.
Most important of all if you want to make money: Find a pristine reserve asteroid ring. Grab as many mining missions as you can, my record is 17 at the same time. Missions generally pay around x3-9 the value of Painite, x3-4 for Platinum and x10-15 for Osmium. I have only found mining missions at high-tech stations. That might just be because they are the only economy that creates mining missions or because the particular part of civilized space I'm in.
How do I collect missions? Playing in the same area for sometime, taking normal missions, and returning to the high-tech station every 10-20 minutes and grabbing every mining mission I can get my hands on.
If you have the time/patience you can also wait for new missions when you come back just to sell your surplus ore at better rates.
