Noob question about the game before buying.

Good choice. You will love it. I'm an older player and play in open and stay away from the populated areas. Very rarely see another live player and the ones I do see are doing what I'm doing. Just playing their own game.
Because it is always online I think it makes the whole thing more alive.

Get it and enjoy it.

I use a Logitech 3d pro joystick. More than adequate for the job. Use it for all my flight sims too.

Played a little bit last night with mouse, it´s very hard do pilot the ship with the mouse, need a lot of practice, bought a Cyborg V1, already cost me 91$, don´t have much other options here in Brazil with a fair price, Saitek X52 cost 380$, T16000M for around 130$.

Frontier did not contact me yet about my order, I guess my worries about the MP part o ED are not a concern anymore, It does not look like a comon MMO or MP game. Hoping for my order arrive before next year. The good things about brazil, expensive hardware, slow delivering options, expensive too.

Now just sit and wait.

I like to thank all for your opinions about the game, maybe some time we cross again in the ED universe.

I mean the game as a single player, AI as enemys, not have to Interact with others players in no way whatsoever.

This is not possible ? if that is the case will need to contact then asp to cancel my order.

Personally I wouldn't be so hasty to cancel your order. I have been playing solo since beta and it is still intirely a rewarding experience for me. If you like the look of the game and want to fly around a spaceship and do the things the game offers you go right ahead. The fact that people on multiplayer affect the dynamics of your game I think is irrelavent, if your just playing solo you still get a good choice of missions and other things to do and interaction with the Npc ships is limited, you may get interdictions and stuff but its not really difficult to shake them from disturbing you from what you are doing. Watch some vids on Youtube. If you like it buy it, if you dont, dont. Solo play for me is still just as immersive.

Maybe have a look at the BlackWidow joystick, cheap and cheerful, but it gets the job done

To clarify there is solo mode where it is just you. However things like trade prices and missions rather than just being random AI can be affected by other people in their respective games. It's a pretty cool mechanic but some people seem to think it's some kind of game breaker. Each to their own but i love it.

I played the original but I did keep up with Games really till around 2007 with BF2 so I grew into expecting and enjoying playing with others. Some of the rounds I played as a large team in BF2 still bring’s a smile to my face when I think back.

Good luck with your purchase personally I cant wait to play and meet up with real human players as to me that is what the Modern Elite should be. David would have loved the good old BBC version back in the day online playing with others but it just was not possible at the time. Reading the posts I think the Solo mode is a nice fit if that is how you wish to play. But for me it has to be the impressive full Buna, the kitchen sink, the dog’s dangly bits yes the full on multiplayer 100 % of the time.

To clarify Elite will be just epic whatever mode. It’s the daddy of this genre being the first original 3D space combat game. Others can follow but their will only be one original.

And you lucky fools get to play it now. I’ll not be in space till next year when I get a new high end rig. The lateness in purchase is partly down to the woefully slow Dayz development so I figure wait till Win10 and get better kit for my money. The game will just have to sit there in the store till then. But glad I backed it on KS.
