Noob question: Do Thargoids have a bubble?

I know very little about the Thargoids, other than that they are a hostile alien race.

Humanity has our 'bubble' of systems, along with all the political machinations that go on within them.

What do we know about the Thargoids? Do they have a similar bubble of systems? And if so, do they have the sorts of political diversity that humanity does or are they a very homogeneous society?

Has any explorer ever bumped into a Thargoid explorer out in the galactic wilderness?

in all truth, we do not know for certain

its believed that the thargoids do have a bubble, some say its the Pleiades as they only seem to appear there

the only bit of lore we have is in Drew Wagner's books. in it there's 2 factions of thargoid, Klaxians and Oresrians (prob got that wrong) and one is hunting down the other, the victim faction is incurring into our space to use us as a meat shield

but again, theres been no mention whatsoever in game about these factions, so its not 100% confirmed

There is a bubble of thargoid bases, but they have all been destroyed or abandoned. Canonn have a nice interactive 3d map of it, but I am on my phone so don't have the link to hand.

There are sure to have at least 1 living bubble elsewhere, probably in a permit locked region.

Can't wait to get the permit for Thargoid space, imagine it, going from system to system in a really fast ship, Bizarre orbital bases that we haven't seen yet (maybe on a scale like X series, planet sized organic complexes linked by tentacles and things that look like neurons firing which are the data network, etc), Thargoids everywhere, all hostile because you're in their space, like that scene in Voyager when Janeway makes a deal with the Borg and there are cubes EVERYWHERE.

Even better grind rep with aliens and get a landing permit as well.

We don't know a lot about Thargoids. The only things we know is how some(?) of their ships look, what they do at certain wreck sites and how they react to interference of CMDRs.

I'm not aware that Thargoid ships have been seen outside a sphere around the Pleiades.

the only bit of lore we have is in Drew Wagner's books. …

Since anything about Thargoids in Drew Wagner's books is only something one character tells somebody else even that information might not be true - just things that person thought was true.

The only real information in a Elite Dangerous novel is in "out of darkness" where the protagonists encounter Thargoids and that interactions get described from the view of an external narrator. And those informations are not very specific and anything more specific is again just something someone thinks or says.

In short: We know nothing.

It's probably worth pointing out that there's a large area of space (fairly) near the Pleiades which is permit-locked and a couple more similar regions on the opposite side of the human bubble.

Speculatively, they could end up being home for Thargoids, Guardians and/or some other species... if FDev get around to creating the required content.

Drew Wagar collected and maintained the official lore on The Thargoids on his website. Recently he transferred his files to the website of the Canonn Research Group, see https://canonn.science/lore/drewwagar-the-thargoids/

-spoiler alert-

About the Thargoids' bubble, the Thargoids are said to be an insectoid race so I expect there to be somekind of Thargoid Hive. It could be a mothership, a planet, a system or a whole bubble like we humans have. We don't know (yet). I do know that the audio logs of one of the secret INRA bases (Carmichael Point) contains a panicky recording of a commander reporting he sees a Thargoid ship very different from what he expected. He refers to it as a mothership, see https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/383412-INRA-Base-Discoveries.

We don't even know if they are "hostile" in the normal sense of the word. They may not even have that concept.

Very little is known.
There are also rumours that the Thargoids might even be capable of intergalactic travel.
They might be present in multiple Galaxies and the systems they occupy here might just be minor colonies.

I think ED will be the first Elite game that will settle the lore about the Thargoids. We will learn as development progresses.

I don't think there is currently one in the game but in one of those permit locked regions it will probably happen, at least I very much hope so. I would bet my money on the Area around Barnards loop.
