I'm JeffRyan. You might remember me from such threads as Elite: Babysitting or the more useful Words of Wisdom Thread. I'm here to talk to you today about a new member of our group The Prismatic Imperium: Noobie Nix.
Noobie Nix joined our group a few weeks ago after I found him lurking in our Team Speak alone. I talked to him for a bit and he seemed nice enough and I helped him join our facebook group. At the time I was negotiating high level negotiations between the Prismatic Imperium and our Arch-Nemesis the Aisling's Angels. I decided to keep the conversation in Public (actually the Canteen) so as not to shut Noobie Nix out. He took part in the ensuing conversation and I don't remember what he said, but it was not stupid. He may have just been quiet I don't remember.
Since that fateful day he's thrown himself into the foray of all that it is to be a member of the Prismatic Imperium. He attends the events, he hangs out with Commander Vickershaft (even if he is a bad influence on Noobie Nix) and I've heard him being blown up and taking it in his stride. He's even written at least one article for The People's Media.
Of course in the weeks since, he's no longer just Noobie Nix. He's since become Commander Space Duke Noobie Nix or something and continues to adds titles to his name. Some of them deserved.
The point being, get to know your Noobie Nixes. They bring light and a fresh perspective to the game. And remind us old fogies who've been playing for years the joys of those first weeks in Elite: Dangerous.
And of course, we can be bitter when in the few weeks since they've joined they amass more cash than you have in over a year.
Still, if you meet Noobie Nix in your travels, say Hi to him. He's a very nice chap. (That last part I do actually mean).
