Engineers Nooooooooo!

After seeing that my railguns were just chipping paint with enemies in CZ zones, I decided to take on the role of the Spec ops forces, using phasing lasers.

I have noticed their lasers work really, both in witnessing both first hand and the demise of enemies. so I got my corvette outfitted with 1 size 3 and 2 size 2 burst lasers.

Then I got them all G5 engineered efficient with phasing sequence.

Then went back to use it against CZ ships... whilst there was a little phasing effect, the damage to armour was next to unnoticeable...on an Asp Scout!!!!

They chip paint even less than the Railguns! so now I just wasted all those precious materials on nothing more than a laser pointer.

I will be experimenting further, I think I will put one Pacifer and 2 cannons on it, with drag and force shell respectively.

Phasing sequence isn't really useful in PVE combat. It's designed to chip off hull through fat PVP-grade megashields - something that NPC doesn't have, even engineered ones.

Drag munitions and force shell are outright useless against NPCs, don't waste materials on them.

Plain old lasers work well in PvE, even on the new and tougher ships, to tear down the shields. Granted, the shields are also tougher than before. I use my Cutter with 2 huge Efficient G5 thermal vent lasers plus a large laser modded the same way, plus packhounds for stripping away chaff launchers and the like once the shields are down.

Bleedthrough from phasing is about 10%, so your three lasers would've dealt about 4 damage/second in optimal range. If you want to go phasing, you should go full phasing. I have a phasing 'Conda in Colonia which only has gimballed phasing bursts and two seekers in the smalls, works reasonable well in PvE. And still the bleedthrough is not much before shields on NPCs go down.
