Not a whinge just an observatrion during an experiment

Ok so we are still testing and we can switch between open/solo at will which i hope will be stopped at launch yes take open into solo but not the other way round please devs:)

I will be playing Solo on release and yes i wanted offline but this has nothing to do with this post, this is just getting it out in the open.

Back on topic then................

I have been testing ( thats how i see it) in both Open and Solo since gamma and decided to try something silly now that i had 2 Hauliers same spec in the same system.

Travelling the same route with the same ship with the same cargo was there any difference ?

Well yes there is on a limited experiment

In a simple SC in system in Open i got interdicted 5 times with 2 tonnes of bio waste and got killed on the 5th interdiction.

Once killed i went to Solo and went on the same trip and managed to do 3 return trips from station to station with no interdiction.

So tried Open again this time with no cargo and got interdicted twice again same system same route.

Should i complain and whine ?

Never.
It is my game to play my way, same as it is for everyone and we just happen to share it, but has anyone else tried the same kind of experiment ?

Probably not the right place to post but prior to first interdiction i had comms but as i have planned to play solo i had not looked into comms, maybe a tutarial on them could be done prior to release :)

As interdiction is random you would need to have a much bigger sample to determine patterns, it is very easy to see trends and patterns where there are none
.
It is quite possible to toss a coin five times facing north and get five heads then repeat facing south and get 5 tails....cool result but means nothing...do it a hundred times and if the pattern repeats itself then you start to form some conclusions

I agree you shouldnt be able to switch at will,

But not sure about your findings with the other thing. I have never noticed any real difference between amount of interdictions with solo and mp.

If you are in an area where theres loads of humans about then that will boost the number.

But obviously its normally harder if its a human that interdicts you.

Its fair to say though with switching its safer to do everything in solo then switch to MP only you fancy pvp. Which will be a common tactic I imagine. Which is a negative against having the option to switch imo.

I totally agree i was just wondering if anyone else had tried something similar but what i forgot to add was all this was done in a single 25 min session.

And i did say it was a limited experiment ;)
