Not able to slow down and dock

Hello,

So i bought this game since it came out on de PS4 and was very excited.
Now after learning a few hours im able to fly land, cruise my SRV ect.

So now i landed on a planet and found some drones scanning some stuff, killed them picked two cannisters up and i want to sell the stuff.
I am targeting Azeban City, saw youtube video's about how to dock ect but here come's my problem wich made me erase my save game for 4 times already.

Im flying over there in supercruize mode, slowing down when i come close and the last minute i fly real slow to it so that nothing can go wrong.
My ship does absolutly not slow down more then the 30 km/s or u or whatever.
Every time i fly past it and i dont know how to slow down to the speed so that i can request a docking and dock.

I am at the point of quiting this game already because believe me ive tried for hours now.
You guys are my last hope, please help me or does any one has the same problem?

Okay.

SOunds like you are in supercruise, which is a sort of different travel mode.

Target the station, and set your throttle to 75%. Keep the station dead ahead, and when 'SAFE DISENGAGE' pops up (keep an eye on the left panel about alignment and speed), press the supercruise button and drop into normal space.

The station should be less than 10km away, fly over and dock.

Yup, my money's on this being your answer. If not give a nice clear description of your problem and we'll help you out. In the words of Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel ... don't give up, 'cos you have friends.

Thats the thing, should not because i slow down also out of the supercruise.
Also when i fly past it, normally as i seen in the video's the station should pop up or load thats its shown.
In my game it doenst do that either, the only thing i see is a little yellow dot and thats is.

Ok ill try to be as clear as can be.

So im flying in supercruize and the speed keeps ticking up like normal, i am getting near to so called station and i get out of the supercruize, after a while i get the blue message 'SAFE ENGAGE'.
i keep the bar in the blue like it said in the tutorial and on the video's.
I keep getting closer and closer but nothing happens, the station does not pop up, i see a little yellow dot until i pas it and thats it.

I tried many time flying a big distance away and do the samen again, i even tried just flying no supercruizing wich took me an hour and a half still i get the yellow dot and no station.

Also the station is targeted.
It also does not show up to request docking in the target panel.

You have to exit super cruise if you are in space. You will get a message that says safe to disengage. At that point, X+up d-pad should exit super cruise.

I highly suggest you run the first 3-4 tutorial missions as I believe the second one covers this.

This has helped me a LOT: go in to the options and configure your controls, under throttle controls, map a button to "set throttle to 75%". I have hold circle and press R1 set to it.
When I press the button combo it sets and stays at 75 % engine, automatically following the decrease in speed. Press it at 7 seconds and it's an easy cruse to avoid the loop of shame.

This is the answer - there is no automatic disengage. When you do, the station will appear.

When you land on the planet I am guessing you crash out of supercruise with a 'too close!' message? This is damaging your ship.

Yup, as others have alluded, when you see the blue SAFE DISENGAGE message you have to manually toggle your supercruise off (there'e a control binding for toggle FSD which you can use to both hyperspace jump when you have a system targetted and exit supercruise again when you see the above message).

You are over shooting the target because you are not disengaging supercruise.
When you get about 10 seconds from target drop the throttle into the blue section to keep the speed under control and wait until you are under 1000km from target.
You will then get safe disengage pop up.

Then press triangle to take you out of super cruise, (assuming you left it as default setting) the sataion will then pop up in front of you and you will then be travelling at normal speed

Ok guys i got it figured out, i did disengage supercruize and been flying towards the station with only 150 speed but still the dot.
I reinstalled the game and now it seems te work fine :D, even though i find it pretty hard to find the entrance and to land within the station but thats something else.
Atleast im able to do so now.

Everybody thank you for your tips.

Sounds as if you dropped out of SC too early. Check the elft panel, you need both distance and speed to be blue, then if you are aligned you get 'safe disengage' and pop, you will appear within 10km of the station

When you 'target' the station if it's a cubey one (coriolis) then there are arrows pointing to the front. They tend to face sort-of towards the planet and always rotate the same way. Which may help find the entrance for you.
