Just stumbled over this one:

Python and Asp Explorer are findable by name, haven't checked the others yet.

I'd be curious how credible it is for FDev to deal with this legally, given that they haven't bothered their [behind] to do any of their own merch toys (Lego-style or otherwise), so there's no sense in which these are copies of existing products.

Just looking at the images and admittedly I haven't gone to look on the site, but they look more like generated images rather than real products. If you see what I mean. I'm not sure even if you bought them they would ever arrive.

That was my initial thought too, but having a quick scan of the pictures I'm not spotting any obvious inconsistencies that would be typical of something like that.

As is mentioned above, companies like this don't just trade in ED products. I presume they just randomly pull a bunch of designs from Lego fan sites, which has included an ED fan at some point.

You mean like all those "look what I built in Lego" posts you find on the internet and then find out the people never ever touched a physical brick? That always rubbed me the wrong way.

I ordered a not-Lego Blade Runner Spinner (the flying police car) from that website and was pleasantly surprised when it turned up in a very Lego-like box with very Lego-like construction instructions, just without any Lego logos or characters.

End result was what it looked like in the pictures too.

i am probably naive but am not sure what the harm is, as its not like FD sell this stuff.... in a way it is complementary to FD that who ever made it deem Elite Dangerous worth bothering with to this level.

I believe the more important thing would be, legally speaking, actively protecting your intellectual property. If a company doesn't, it might make it somewhere between more difficult and impossible to persue trademark infringements down the line.
