Not many pirates since 3.0

So anyone else noticed the drop in pirates since 3.0 dropped? Before 3.0 my T9 was a pirate magnet, even in a high security there was a 50/50 chance of a pirate attacking me. Since 3.0 I've had three pirates attack me in total.

Yup, flew a bunch of cargo missions on Saturday and was wondering where the "inflight entertainment" was. Normally, NPC interdiction helps break up the monotony... FINALLY, got interdicted by a T-10 (!) who face tanked and rammed my Cutter (bad choice)...

Also noticed that npcs in missions aren't spawning either, you know the missions where enemies have been sent to stop you. Had three of those while hauling wing cargo between a to b, no enemies.

nope, didn't notice a change.
was not attacked very often before, so its hard to notice any difference.

what i notice is, that keeping my reputation up with the Eurybia Blue Mafia is now harder to do with just trading.
Because all pirates attacking me in those systems are from that faction, and you cant get rep via handing in bounties from same criminal faction...

I have spent a few hours trading yesterday and today and indeed, interdictions seem to be a bit rarer now. Now rare by any means, but not as "every goddamn time you get close to a station" common as before. :)

Last night I did two wing trade missions, staying in the same system bouncing between three stations, and carrying standard cargo on the third leg. Flying a T9, which comes with an "Interdict ME!" bumper sticker on its posterior. Total trips: 16. Total interdictions: 0

I will grant you that interdictors seem to spawn when you jump into a system, so this may not have been a fair test since I never jumped, per se.

Yep same here. No interdiction whilst on cargo missions. However I HAVE been interdicted with Guardian stuff in the hold. Odd!

Maybe the pirates are excited for the Guardians too!

At first I noticed a small drop but then it kicked back in. So much so that ive used my killer conda to take wing haulage as bait for all those juicy mats and ...pay back for their annoying
interruptions when in my traveling hair salon(cutter).

So, no...not me, they are about the same as pre 3.0

I do not mind a few less npc pirates, especially the scripted ones that can magically find you over long distances, again and again and again, but I do get the feeling that pirate activity has been neutered a bit too enthusiastically by FDev :). We will see what happens. I wouldn't be surprised if a rebalancing was in the works.

I have not tested this myself, but I hope that pirate activity is now also more in line with the security level of the system, or the regions in a system.

I miss the interdictions... {sniff} It used to break up the monotony....

Whats the point of having all these shiny weapons if I never get a chance to use them? Now I know how Donald Trump feels...

"You talkin' to me, Huh? You talkin' to me?"

For anyone missing the interdiction, do some mining and u wont miss it at all. One hour of mining and i got interdicted 3 times on my way to the station [where is it]

I did mining yesterday. No interdictions despite carrying 256 tons of 'tasty cargo'.

Seriously though, my gut tells me that the servers/instance might just be too busy to generate NPC interdictions as quickly as they used to... Sure, I still get the warnings, but now they just never show up.

I have a couple of stations I typically run missions between when I want to make credits. One has a crazy short arrival (10 LS?), the others are about 500 and 2000 LS. Prior to 3.0, stacked with missions, I could always get in to the close station (10 LS), and almost always to the middle station (500 LS), WITHOUT interdiction. However, pre-3.0, I had about a 50-50 chance of getting interdicted on my way to the 2000 LS station. Chance of interdiction always seemed relative to the time spent on arrival. It always felt to me that the servers didn't have the necessary time to generate the interdictions on the closer arrivals. Now, I'm hardly getting interdicted at all, even on a 2000 LS arrival. I probably played for 3-4 hours this weekend in these systems and only got interdicted once! (and yes, it was on the 2000 LS arrival)

BTW - These are all cargo delivery missions from an extraction station. So yeah, 400-740T of Gold, Platinum, etc depending on which ship I am flying...) usually topped off with a bunch of Sensitive Data Missions as well.
