Not possible to select data points at Generation Ships

I have been to several generation ships to scan the data points and add them to my codex.
However, when I approach any data point the selection marker does not appear?
I have tried this in Oddyssey and Horizons but both don't work.
Yes, I have the data scanner active.

In the tracker there does not seem to be any mention of this so I have made a new entry:
Please add to this if you would like to have this resolved?

Just done one - in Odyssey - working the same as ever. Keep practicing!

Don't forget to deploy hardpoints.
Ah well, you learn something everyday even after 1000+ hours gametime. 🤯
It never occured to me to deploy hardpoints as the data scanner is part of the sensor array and not a hardpoint or a utility mount?
Have scanned datapoints in settlements but that is with a SRV and its turret is deployed automatically at a distance from the ship.

I'll see if I can retract the issue I made in the tracker.

/case closed/🥳

The other thing that I think was probably also mentioned, is that you have to be crazy close for some of the things the scanner works on, like surface data points. I think the range is easier for megaships though.

Yeah... took me a bit to figure that out, too. :)

That's true, too. You basically have to be close enough to feel the breeze of its fart.

To be clear, I'm referring to the thing you're scanning... not @Bottom Hat .
