Not so homogenous asteroid fields

Hello.
By flying in ED I am stopping to like the thing that all RES or asteroid belts semms to be nearly the same.
Similiar rock size, textures. Not so many dust, all rocks are spheric...

What about putting something like this in ED ?

Yea, I'd really like this. More variation for eyes goes a long, long, long way. A really long way. The way is long, that it goes.

Drop into an icy ring and the roids are lumps of ice.
Metallic are also different to rocky.

I've seen some gorgeous sites - it's all about the backdrop.

Most of your examples are more about the nebulae effect as opposed to cool looking roids.

That said, more variation is always good as long as the effects aren't over the top.

Aaaahhhh...Freelancer...those were absolutely gorgious!
Can't recall how many times I collided with an asteroid, weirderoid or scrap metal... But it did not matter much in the game :)

I love concept art:)
BUT I think the belts in E : D are the best belts ever so far. The only things that could be improved are:

.) mixed belts
.) atmospheric effects (nebulae) depending on composition and light (heating up the ice or dust)
