Not that long till release -- How much is done, yet?

Hi,

as Q4 is coming closer and the comtent we've seen so far is rather tiny, how much of the game isn't shown to us, yet? And how do you want to manage to finish all the content?

(Just remember the amount of stalls, scenery, themes, rides, coasters, scenarios and well designed management system from previous rct's)

Discussion is officially opened!

I agree i would love to have/see more content.

At the same time i want to ask people why they keep refeering to "how Frontier will get everything ready" in Q4.
We really don't know how much is finished, maybe there is a LOT more stuff already done but they just don't want to release it yet for technical (or marketing) reasons? Or just because they want to keep the focus on the main features.

It's already month's ago when we saw the first trailer and we saw flatrides that still aren't released. It's quite possible they are on the shelve in completed state but just yet unreleased. Or maybe a lot of stuff is near ready but all at 98% done and the finishing touches will be done in the last weeks before release.

To say in short, we have no clue on how much stuff is done already [happy] Only Dev's know *hint hint* [tongue]

I always got the feeling the game was almost complete when they released it on alpha. It's just the alpha build was only released incomplete in stages to give us a chance to test what Frontier wanted us to concentrate on at each stage. It would have taken a lot longer than the time between stage one and stage two to create the terrain editing tools. In my opinion I think Frontier will have a build complete with the simulation and management and probably most of the assets in place, they probably had this since before alpha launch. Some people are worrying if Frontier will have everything ready in time, but I don't think we need to worry.

No water, no security staff, the game doesn't have all the rides which featured in Frontier's Announcement Trailer for this game on YouTube. So there'll probably more rides too. And, optimization. Even high end PC hardware may run into lag or a noticeable drop in fps sometimes. But that is expected since the game is only in Alpha. We already have Terrain Editor too. Q4 2016 = either an October, November or December release. Tip: If you can, pay a little extra for the Alpha upgrade, that way you can ENJOY the game now rather than........................ wait. It's well worth the money. Join the fun today with the Alpha version.

Taking a closer look at the schedule. Before Alpha 1 was launched we were told that each phase of the Alpha would last for 6 to 8 week before the next iteration. The first Alpha was released on March 22nd which means that if this schedule were correct, Alpha 3 would be released 12 to 16 weeks after March 22nd, which would be June 14th to July 12th. Considering that July 12th is just 5 days away and we know nothing related to the release of Alpha 3 it can be said that the game is currently running behind schedule. If Frontier continues to stick by the quality over quantity model, which I strongly hope they do, I expect the release date to be pushed back into very late Q4 or Q1 2017. Other than that, it is really hard to tell how much of the game is done, because Frontier won't budge in releasing any more information. My biggest fear is that content which was originally planned for final release is pushed back into after release updates so that Frontier can hold its original schedule.

Maybe they rushed Alpha 2 because within 2 weeks of it coming out, there were like another 2 or 3 updates. The Alpha version is still very enjoyable though. Graphics look amazing. Rides are fun. And the music is the best music I've listened to this year [yesnod], and YouTube isn't going to us "nope, copyright, your video has been muted or is not viewable in Germany or run ads in your video, or worrying about copyright notices/strikes". Games do not have to be perfect upon launch. Game developers do release Updates after a launch. But they give us the option. Pre-order and wait, or wait until it releases and buy it, or, by the Alpha version and enjoy what the game so far has.

I remember Minecraft on Xbox One being delayed 3x. It was suppose to come out around the time of Xbox One's launch. Then a few months later. They released it for PS4 testing but they postponed it because they found bugs. It then went into Microsoft cert testing or something before finally being released. TDU2 on Xbox 360 was buggy and unfinished when it came out. But the game developers released it on schedule probably because of the heavy demand for it and they don't want to keep customers waiting. Halo MCC Xbox One had broken multiplayer at launch and a 15GB day one update too. I'd like to try out the Forza Horizon 3 Beta.

Keep in mind that Frontier is only adding stuff to the released Alpha builds when they're ninety to one-hundred percent done. I'm sure there are a ton of systems that are fifty to eighty percent done that Frontier hasn't told us about.

i believe that for example the pirate theme is complete and they are just releasing a small part in Alpha and the same with the modern theming. They will not release everything in Alpha. I believe that they have a lot more done than everyone knows about. Rides are not too hard to impletment. Water would take longer but they should be out in Alpha 3. Shops they have the basic outline of those so easy to impletment different types and the same with scenery objects. I have no doubt they they would of done animatronic pirates. VFX again we have only gotten a sample for example the water small and large, but no medium yet but that would of already been done.
