I hope you could add text field to the galaxy map view, such where you can type your own information about each system - which ofcourse is only visible to yourself. Quite like a notepad for yourself. "X station sells Y", "good place to hunt people" etc.
Regular pen & paper is bit too hard since there's so many systems to keep track of.
