So here we go...Deliver Resources for Experimental Weapon Stabilizer.
The run in at LHS 1163 to Glorious Prospect is 1006LS. At the 7 second point to throttle down into the blue then gravity wells slow the ship down having to manually increase the throttle to keep the 7 second approach. Once past that and free of the gravity wells on final approach too much blue throttle will overshoot while heading into an asteroid field.
Upon arrival fly around the mega ship to find one large and two medium landing pads. If you went 'under' instead of 'over' with the approach you're probably facing the pads.
This is awesome if I was looking to kill live players in large cargo ships with a dedicated G5 engineered combat build. Perfect for interdicting other players. So with only one large landing pad this looks to be a Solo or Group mode play with everyone talking in System Chat. One large landing pad with hundreds of haulers is not efficient in Open mode and this time we need 29,000,000 contributions versus the last CG for gimballed AX multi-cannons wanting 20,000,000. That took awhile.
Then Frontier started another CG providing bounties to protect haulers delivering the goods to Glorious Prospect. From what I can see the good guys in LHS 1163 Supercruise have to keep the bad guys busy so the haulers can get to the station. Advance mode we wing up with Discord but then those darn instance issues with the game.
Me in my engineered highly shielded 720 cargo Cutter can take out any NPC interdiction and with experience no PvPer will get me. No good guys around flying in Open mode a Cutter I avoided, a Krait Mk II with 4 PAs and a Clipper ramming me outside of the megaship weapons fire zone attacked me. No biggie but hauling and advanced PVP combat versus ships designed for that I won't win but can frustrate them. Others in Type-9s many without weapons, engineering builds and a very slow moving ship will be very difficult to protect.
Note none of the above is negative as this is how the game has been played for years. The challenge is the thing. But with only one large landing pad Open mode won't get the CG completed. Frontier should have gone with an orbiting station then see how PvP works together with PvE. For me a Solo mode in a CG is boring.
If you have experienced contributions to make this CG more effective post them here. If you want to kill CMDR HOOPLAH in my Cutter well I will go Open mode now and then to see if you can pull it off.
Regards to all and have fun!
