Dear CMDRS!
I am an ED newbie. When ED released for PS4 it felt like a dream came true. We played ED every day for hours and hours and we used to play open because we were exited for the thrill that it could be possible to lose like eveything by one mistake. We were looking forward for a hardcore mode like Diablo. DEAD is DEAD, pls try again!
We provoked other CMDRS to get a good fight and sometimes we got blown up by better pilots. Not shooting weak ships, looking for a challange. Sounds great fun, doesnt it?
But it was like impossible to kill others. Even if the other pilot did the first shot. Before they die, they log off. If you wait for them, they come back after 2 minutes and if you shoot again, they log off again, switch to solo, jump away, logging to open again, pull you out, shoot you and if you are closed to win, they logg off ..........
Okay, a few cowards, never mind. But it bacame more worst every day. After 2 months 7 out of 10 pilots left the fight by logging off and like 30% of them did the first shot. So i asked myself: Is that the idea of an online open game mode = a selfmade immortal mode ?
I visited the forum and found some threads, old threads (2015 or whatever, i really dont renember). Developers said it is like using exploits so we reported the combat logging. We were 4-6 CMDRS every evening and everbody of us reported arround 10 pilots per day for a few weeks. Some YT videos were made too. No Response, nothing changed.... My friends didnt want to play open anymore because it bacame frustrating. After 3 or 4 month just 2 of us were left. We played PP in solo mode, it became boring too and so we quit.
Pls don't understand me wrong. Maybe PC players are more brave than the PS4 players, maybe the weapons of a ship shouldnt be used to kill other players in open mode and maybe I am the wrong player for this game...... I just want others (maybe a developer) to understand my point of view and let them know why people like me are leaving the game. And I cant be the only one.
I am not a ganker or griefer or whatever and I dont want to play CQC all day. I just love online mode, I love pvp and I still kinda love the game. I hope that one day the problem of combat logging will be history.
Since one week I have been traveled throught ED universe again, in solo mode, because open on PS4 is just frustrating.
Are there others like me who still playing and have some ideas? Pls let me know.
