Nothosaurus in Camp Cretaceous

It seems that it has legs and not fins. It doesn't look like an ocean, more like a freshwater river. I didn't see much. I looked like a snake with legs

That's basically what a Nothosaurus is actually; the whole group is thought to be the precursor to Plesiosaurs, and are generally regarded as semi-aquatic animals that didn't stray far from land...

On that note, I really don't like the idea of putting semi-aquatic animals in a giant tank meant for oceanic animals... even if we could create some island habitat object, it would still be a small bit of land in the middle of a very large and very deep ocean environment.

I've been unable to find the source of the video Swrve got it from all day, as he doesn't post where these "sneak peak" clips are from, so it's hard to tell if they are leaks or from somewhere legal, so I haven't really seen it to avoid anything that may be leaked.

But, it has been known since June 23rd that a nothosaur will be in it in this trailer tweet the official Jurassic World account posted.

As for it being in JWE2, I have little doubts. My best guess is it may come in another Camp Cretaceous themed DLC, as the CC dino pack doesn't have everything from the TV show, at least from Mantah Corp's island. It has everything from Nublar, but not Mantah Corp, just two out of a few dinos. If true, like I currently believe so, it could come in either a Mantah Corp expansion with a campaign taking place on that island (no Chaos Theory since Jens confirmed there isn't one planned not too long ago), or another dinosaur pack that's Mantah Corp themed and not primarily Nublar themed.

I don't think that will be a big deal. While it's pretty undoubtful if they were to add the CC nothosaur as a lagoon reptile, there will be no semi-aquatic behaviors for it, I've seen aquatic reptiles kept in zoos, aquariums, and tanks that don't need to go out of the water in retrospect, like some turtles.

It would sell us well to have some area of the lagoon with land so that it can go out. definitely the gaps are the part of the game that require more work, there are only the basics. We have an animal similar to a giant crocodile that also has legs and could come out of the water, I don't remember its name now

Here's hoping they'll add something like the aquatic update in Planet Zoo. Semi-aquatic animals + deeper water and water interactions with some existing species.

Another idea I once had were something like floating islands in the lagoon, which would also povide a bit of a safe space for smaller marine reptiles from predation by larger purely aquatic ones. (except around the very edges, naturally). This is probably more easy to implemenzt than a water update for exhibits, but also intresting in its own right, especially if you can customise the islands with brushes, rocks and vegetation.

Also: yeeeeees. Despite never mentioning it on the forum before, but Nothosaurus was one animal I was low-key hoping for getting some attention.

In this Season 5 clip, our 6 campers encounter another ancient reptile, but this one is from the sea.

What do you say, guys? How about a bigger one of these in our lagoons?
I would absolutely LOVE to see the nothosaurus in JWE2. I could see it being kept in regular land enclosures rather than lagoons. But then again I think it would make more sense to be in lagoons, though they'd probably have to add thorough terrain customization into lagoons. But if they make the nothosaurus contained in regular land enclosures, then they might as well also add water depth customization and dinosaur swimming.

You know, I've always wanted to see whether or not Nothosaurus could be added in a JWE game, or at least have a pretty good chance like now because of its appearance in the show, because apparently an official piece of concept art for the Jurassic World ride at Universal Studios shows that it was apparently thought of at one point when planning the layout. And it's because of that little tiny behind the scenes detail that had me thinking for a couple years about having Nothosaurus in a personal Jurassic World park just to serve as a mere tribute to that ride concept.

Wow, that's really interesting! I wonder If that's where the writers of CC got the idea to use the nothosaurus from.

I don't know, because it's pretty obscure. But should it ever come to the game, possibly in a new Camp Cretaceous themed DLC, I definitely will use the concept art as a personal inspiration. Maybe as an animal you can see first before the Mosasaurus, since the artwork shows it was thought of as being the first thing you see before seeing the larger reptile.

To really look like the original Movie JW Lagoon from JW and JW Fallen Kindoom there need to be an Option to have not only our walls with its fence on topp as only Boundary between water and land !
The Original JW Lagoon had also rocky parts and sandbeaches as shores of the Lagoon !!!
With this, and the Option to let Lagoons connect to the shallow water of our normal enclosures, it would be a perfect expansion for an DLC for
Semiaquatic creatures like nothosaurs, Deinosuchus and Sarcosuchus ( the Last 2 are Giant crocodilians which where featured in JP videogames or as JW Toys), and as free update swimming abilitiy for Spinosauroids !
For side B Islands it wouldalso be much nicer to have Lagoons without walls/fences.

As you can see there is also a underwaterfence which stretches some meters out of the water. Such fence would be very welcom to let many different Marine reptiles live in defined parts of the same big lagoon !

With the Nothosaurus, I see a few possibilities.

1. It's fully aquatic. That's it.

2. It's a Land Creature, but like the Dimetrodon, it requires a ton of water and chooses to spend it's time IN the water.

3. It's a Marine Creature, but it comes with a Lagoon Expansion which adds new modules like Rotundas, tunnels, etc. But it comes with a Land Module for Semi Aquatic Creatures, so species like Deinosuchus, Archelon, etc could come with the Nothosaurus in the DLC.

I feel it would work best as a land-based animal, but requiring a lot of water in its enclosure like Dimetrodon and Spinosaurus. And taking into account the size of the CC animal, it would easily be able to swim around in the regular water with no problem, which alone would be a unique and very cool behavior for it. Have it require the Fish Feeder, and it climbs up onto the rim with its front legs and dips its head into the feeder to catch fish. It could also engage the Small Theropods in battle, and as another unique animation if it kills one close to water it drags the corpse into the water before feeding (and it could also ambush small dinosaurs as they drink or walk through the water).
