Notoriety decay rate, way too fast

There are several problems with having notoriety decay so quickly.

1) Anyone trying to develop a criminal career may not actually want it to decay, they may WANT to become the Galaxy's most notorious, if I spent weeks growing my notoriety only to have it reduce overnight i'd be pretty annoyed.

2) Any Pker or Griefer can go on a murder spree, and a few hours later will be welcome in all civilised space... This is just plain silly....

3) For both the reasons above, bounty hunters are going to have very few highly notorious criminals to hunt down... Bad for us bounty hunter types...

Sandro, please give this some thought..... It should decay over a period of week or months... Definitely not hours...

Sandro has already stated on the livestream this afternoon, that all of the parameters of the new system will be monitored and adjusted as necessary. But, they need to see how fast the notoriety decay affects things in actual play situations. If 20 hours is too quick, they will look at adjusting it.... but then they do have to wait at least 20 hours before being able to assess that.......

Common sense tells us that they will have to adjust and monitor, but common sense should also tell that decaying over a period of hours is at least a couple of orders of magnitude too fast...

What does notoriety have to do with bounty hunting?

It won’t completely decay overnight unless you leave your commander logged in all night. They said the timer is counts down only when in game. So if you’re always doing things to increase your notoriety when you play then you can very much still become the most notorious

Notoriety not decaying

I accidentally got a bounty last night (I think my stupid crew member killed someone), my notoriety was 1.
I parked up at in a nearby system with an Interstellar Factor, left the game logged in went to bed.
Something like 17 hours later (at least 12 of which I was logged in to the game) and notoriety is still 1
So I think it's broken anyway!

I could have sworn the game logs you out for inactivity doesn’t it?

Common sense tells me you haven't ever PvP pirated have you? It's not at all too fast.

Like everything that's very easy to overcome.
