No, that point would have been having to bimble around for three years waiting for further improvements and not bothering about too much because it's either taking to long or unlikely to further improve.
Well, if you don't even know what they improved 3 years back, how can you know about the things they did 2 years ago, or even last year.
 
SE leaves me cold though I have to admit
Usually when I'm preaching the SE gospel on the ED forum, it's about things that SE has that ED could have if it wanted to, rather than the other things (like building ships out of blocks). SE does a pretty amazing job with space legs, for example. I also find SE's flight model more compelling, along with its damage and repair model, FTL methods, power management, etc. But I confess, ultimately it is a very different kind of game. If ED actually had all the best aspects of SE while still being ED (flying ships rather than building ships), I have a sneaky suspicion that ED would be my favorite space game once again. Ironically the best parts of SE that I wish ED had are mostly things that Braben promised during the early kickstarter days but we never got.

Re: instancing problems - these existed long before block function was implemented. Powerplay buddies will know how many countless times we were in one wing but one of us was "invisible", as in could be targeted but nothing was rendered...
 
Instancing problems are fun. All of the sudden my exit from a jump or supercruise is a bit longer that usual. I wonder, is that someone I blocked? Is that someone that blocked me? Who is this roulette wheel going to drop me into an instance with? Fun fun fun. Aw it's that FC inspired orange sidewinder. I hate that guy.
