Now getting 45 fps after update

I decided to go out to Dav’s Hope to stock up on materials before heading out on DW2 and was getting fps of 45 in VR at Dav's hope in my srv running around.
I have many hours running around Dav’s Hope before the update in VR without and fps drop off so this just points to this update messing with VR performance.

Getting 45 fps makes it almost unplayable, everything just gets blurry when driving around and after about 10 minutes I started to get a bad headache and had to leave.

I don’t think this low fps has anything to do with server load but rendering of your environment.
That’s why busy scenes like Has-Res or Dav’s Hope and can’t keep up after the update. Before the update I didn’t notice any fps drop offs

At this point I must think the new lighting scheme is what is killing the VR performance.

I have been playing Elite Dangerous for 2 years and 1500 hours using only my Vive and have been totally blown away by how beautiful and awesome ED in VR was.
But now after the update I find it difficult to strap on my Vive and enjoy Elite Dangerous, Let’s hope Frontier comes thru and fixes the VR performance issue.

My System
Vive then Vive Pro
Intel i7-8700 3.7GHz gen 8
16 GB
1080 GTX Graphics Card
In the same boat as you biscuit performance was better for me as well before update. had to push ss from 190 on steam to 130 to get 90 fps in most areas but still get fps drop in has rez and conflict zones after about 20 to 30 mins of play to the point its unbearable. have to log in then log out play for a bit then repeat. :( i love this game tho almost more then real life.

OK, this issue is pretty annoying right now with DW2 ongoing. Getting 45 and less fps in busy session with other CMDRs, while my GPU load remains below 50%.

Has anyone dropped a bug report or anything? Have FDev acknowledged this?

Are you running a Vive Pro or the original Vive, not quite sure from your spec which one ?

Using Vive Pro now.

I feel that VR performance drop off not from hardware but 3.3 update new lighting not optimized and putting higher demand on hardware.
I have read all hardware types even 2080 ti having trouble.

For what its worth I also felt that there was a drop in performance after 3.3. I don't expect 90fps and I don't think the bottleneck is my side, so I just live with it. In your shoes I would absolutely do the windows re-install I had windows 7 upgraded to windows 10 and it took up about 200gb then I re-installed and that figure dropped to around 90-100GB so lots of old rubbish was removed. That said my system is more poerful than yours and my HMD (Oculus) lower spec and still don't believe 90fps is possible all through the game.

I feel good knowing I'm not the only one here seeing the 45fps numbers on the windowed screen. I'm running an Oculus Rift on a i7 6700k, EVGA SC GTX 1080, and 16GB of ram. I don't know if this is a show of how good oculus is to handling frame drops but I don't really notice any performance differences between VR Low, VR Medium and VR High except around other commanders planet side. The only place i see the low frame rate in effect is on the desktop display of elite when looking at the desktop on oculus' dashboard it seems.
