Now it's starting to get fun ...

Been using my Tradeconda to run Imperial "bring me xyz commodity" missions for a few days, and I'm now Allied with both ends.

My ship is outfitted for 452t cargo, so I've only got 3A shields :)rolleyes:) but a full load of gimballed pulse lasers, which is usually enough to take care of any NPC that interdicts me.

But I'm starting to get a few "Elite" runs ... no problem so far, until I get interdicted by a Dropship.
Okay ... usual routine of pips to shields, turn, scan, ready to boost.

But then his 2 Anaconda friends pop in to join the party :eek:

Boost, boost ... select nearby system to jump to.

Pow ... my shields go down in a couple of hits (not surprising) ... taking damage, FSD offline, thrusters offline.

Hmm, sitting duck... not looking good here.

Ah, a glimmer of hope ... the cops turn up and distract the Dropship and one Anaconda.

So I'm now slowly drifting away from them, but with the other Anaconda still popping away at me ... hull dropping ... 80 .. 70 .. 60 .. 50 .. 40 .. 30 .. 20 .. 10 .. re-buy screen, here we come [knocked out]

But the cops have finally taken out the Dropship and first Anaconda, so the final Anaconda luckily turns and leaves me alone.

Quick, time to reboot ... times passes ... eventually I'm back online ... boost away.

Checking the scanner, I can see the cops have done their job and I'm safe for now.

So back to SC, head for my destination station. Any sign of an NPC behind me and I'll drop back out of SC, but I manage to limp back to port to lick my wounds.

Amazingly I made it with 4% hull and 1% PP ... :D

Boaty McBoatface lives ... but only just ...

I was expecting millions, but I was amazed that it was only 250k (plus 150Cr to reload my point defense !!)
 
Lol great story! I love a close call. :D

I limped my Anaconda home after a quick stint in a CNB, than went horribly wrong. :D

I only had a 250k repair bill too.

Does highlight the issue of ridiculously low repair costs though. Lol

Here's to your epic survival. Should have screen shot the exterior of the ship. I bet it was a steaming wreck.

So I've now been hounded by an NPC Anaconda for 10 mins.

They finally managed to breach my canopy and, despite jumping around various systems, they kept interdicting me and I failed to make it to any station before my oxygen ran out :x

Excellent gameplay :)

As a result, I'm taking a change of direction.

Instead of running from these "big boys", I've upped my 3A shield to 4A, gone for the full 5A life support and added a 4D hull reinforcement package.

The cops now seem to arrive fairly quickly, so next time I'm interdicted, I'm not going to try to jump out. I'll just try to hang in there until help arrives.

The Anaconda has a 5 class Military Module slot. Put a 5A shield Cell Bank in here.

Get a Class 6 Shield Generator, or a Class 5 at least. Your current 4A one is only good for banging into Station walls at low speed.

Dump the 4D Hull Reinforcement module and add more cargo because you obviously want more cargo.

You probably have power issues so work on a bigger Power Plant.

One point defense is enough. Another Shield Booster would help you more.

And use the medium slots for Multi-cannon turrets. Lower power requirements.
 
Good job getting out of there.

Seeing more of these stories now, so suspect it's one of these mysteries for us to find.

Basically, there appears to be tweaks that give NPCs a bit more bite and can throw new behaviors at us.

Overall, the experience is dangerous; but, that's how many of us like it. Positive change overall.
