Now that devs are back... System Security and faction issues need some love.

Now that the devs are back, I'm wondering if we can get an official word on the current issue with police and their blatant protection of wanted people in their space just because they are in the same faction. When or if they will be looked into and if they will be changed/left as is.

An example of this is in Sol, the police are part of Federal Congress. If you engage an NPC of Federal Congress, even if wanted in Federation space (might even be in the middle of shooting you first) the police will say they have detected you committing a crime in their site and will be hostile to you until you reset them. This makes Bounty Hunting nearly impossible to truly do with them so willing to shoot you for doing your job. You can usually just shrug off the Eagles and most of the time the Vipers too but they escalate to Anacondas quite fast. You of course can't defend yourself so you are left with the only choice to jump out and reset, which means also resetting the credit chain of good ships you've been shooting at.

I know people have said that maybe they are bought off or corrupt but it's every single cop, not just a few here and there. Also what about the random escorts with their cargo ship. If say you attacked someone who belongs to x faction, from then on until you reset them that faction will always be hostile (red) to you. If you come across a set of 3 ships, 1 cargo ship and 2 escorts the escorts will engage you every single time without fail and take a bounty hit. Yeah, you could shoot them and claim your 200 credits they give for killing but the amount of time and possible ammo isn't worth it.

Oh and here is another thing that shows the police part is clearly a bug, if you watch them carefully you will sometimes see one NPC engage another wanted NPC and the police will actually engage that Bounty Hunter NPC. They will ignore all crimes committed by their faction NPC no matter what. It gets better when a police ship will engage, either accidentally or on purpose a member of their own faction which will cause the other police in the area to respond and kill that police officer. It's funny to watch two police Anacondas rip each other apart.
