Now that the Federal Dropship is 20M credits, I really would like to fly it. Its a great value for that price.

Now I mostly play for the federation but, how do I get to the ensign rank to get it / how long would it take?

I don't think I can get that rank by just killing random NPC's at nav beacons all day :p


I only have 7m credits in assets, but since bounty pay outs have been doubled(at least I hear), it should not take as long to get there.

Firstly - I flew one in Beta and loved it. It feels like a tank and can pack a punch. Well worth it.

You'll need to run bulletin board missions for federal aligned corporations / organisations in order to rank up. Don't just focus on 1 corp ion one station - do your missions over a couple of stations / federal corps and you'll move much faster through the ranks.

After running so many missions - you'll get promotion opportunity missions. Don't foul them up.
