Now that was TOO close (SC dropping)

well finally got my internet back at home,, so this morning took my Beautiful
Eagle out for a run,, so loaded up opp's saved with 2% hull, mmm better get back to station first and fix the old girl up..

so off we go, Supercrusing baby , i ignored the "safe to disengage" warning , thought it came on a bit to early for me , waited till about 50km bang hit the button disengage.... WOOOOOOOOOO Hit the brakes , Pull up, full reverse..

i came out of SC nose to nose with the station ....was'nt like this before ..
but at 2% hull, i was seating alittle higher than i usually do on my seat ....

note to self " no more drop at 50km. best start dropping at 100km"

Just did it again at chango dock 36 cargo ended up inside the station and when i tried to get out blew up

You guys know right that disengage at 999km will drop you 20km away from station , why tempt fate?

Fixed it for you.
Maybe Faith is the one dropping them too close, after having been sorely disappointed in them? :D

All this sounds to me like it simply needs tweaking to ensure you never drop out inside or too close, just as dropping from SC got tweaked.

Perhaps a tiny tweak. But now thatt we have the ability to come in so close like this is absolutely fantastic. Just adds that extra dimension to piloting out of SC without it just being a case of arbitrarily comeing out at 20km from the station regardless of 200km or 50km (as it was in Alpha.particularly).

I am curious though if it might be possible to in fact reduce the minimum speed when you are that close to the location whilst in SC to have a more finer/gradual control on distance to exit, not sure if it will be technically possible to do so to such a degree to allow you to approach like this mind you...

Im aware of the drop at 999km brings you to a safe distance ,, its not a bug post . I would of posted in beta bug thread.
Just a o ***** post for fun.

But thinking about it now . Knowing we can get this close ,i would of thought the "to close " warning would come up and drop you out before bang !!!!,
Maybe at a 100km idk... up to the devs.

LOL .. So people complain that its not seamless enough and that you are dropped 20km away from the station ...

FD the tweak that so you can basically fly straight into the station, and then people moan about that too! :)

Can't win it seems

This did happen to me once when I SC'd into a resource extraction site .. Shat myself no end!

I wish FD were better at choosing acronyms. I saw the thread title and thought "oh no, poor fellow dropped his copy of Star Citizen." Then there's the other name for it, Frame Shift Drive, that some people are going to shorten to FD. Finally, there's the game's name that ends up looking like this: E:D.

I must be missing something here.

I have disengaged at 1,000km and 25km and everywhere in between and I'm always dropped in the exact same 19-22km area.

If you exit out of frame shift at a distance to the left of the blue region there is a chance of entering normal space inside the station.

I have been droppped in the station twice now and dirrectly in front of the door (almost in the cow catcher). I would love to see the look on anyone leaving the ports face as my Lakon appeared out of no where.

I think a minimum liomit of at least 5 km needs to be applied so people do not drop out of S and die immediately on the wheel of the Orbis.

Bah :p

I like the notion that through your own inexperience/error you could miss-time it and find yourself in such a 'seat of your pants' situation that you may not want to repeat it (or you may do if so inclined.)

I say you ought live and learn! (though the case may be that you won't live... but hey... you reap what you sow)

In truth, I say to leave it as is (providing it's intended; and I DO hope it IS intended tbh!)...

Ending up close enough for brown trouser time could be fun, yes, but inside the station? No, that just breaks thing (and not the station, ha!). :D

Yes to "very, very close".

No to "why did I explode?".

No to "what's all this clipping madness? Is there something wrong with my nVidia drivers?"

That close to the station you're inside the mass lock: which has been established as sufficient to drop you out of SC.

I've raised ticket 12086 for this - please mention this if you raise a ticket of your own to help the support team de-duplicate :)

This happened to me a few times tonight. I didn't make it all the way in to the station. I was dropped inside the station wall and just kinda bounced around until I blew up.
