Now that we have Thememakers... Is it time for Expansion Packs?

We already have 5 DLCs, but i ask myself: What if they add significatively new content in only one pack since DLCs seem to lack content (although the Price may deserve it)? I wouldnt mind paying 30bucks for expansión packs with not only new rides and decoration but gameplay changes.

Here are some of my ideas:

Water Parks Expansion Packs

Seasons Expansion Packs: Not being able to open the park in stormy days (adding rainy ), having more visitors at summer, with school trips… And adding exlusively rides and gaming for every season: Summer - More wáter rides and functional artificial beaches/ Autumn - Special spooky nights (having a wider timetable these days) / Winter - Christmas decoration, special days for families / Spring - Romantique rides and extras.

Rank your park - A expansión pack which allows your park being worldwide known, with a fictional world Rank, a new stars system, hiring celebrities for shows/concerts if it gets very popular, exclusive entrance in some restaurants/rides, new managing system for making it more competitive, stock purchases…

I'd also like to see What you suggest. I've taken The Sims as reference, but it's a different game and if we're talking about a expansión game i'd love to see real changes, not only rides.

Unfortunately it's likely that your first idea isn't going to happen - Frontier have already said multiple times on that. In terms of the others, there are already some christmas decorations from the Festive content.

They sound like interesting ideas though although I can't think of any off-hand.

I've always wanted to see "real" expansion packs with not just new items, but also new systems, and functional things, aaand much, much more! Kind of like Wild! and Soaked!, but maybe with even more new systems?

They have said weather and water parks = no.

Which is unfortunate. But I guess it has a basis. They might have tried and game got unplayable fpswise.

While I doubt it will happen, I'd love to see them put out one or more dlc pack made up of all the missing pieces for the different themes in the game already...sort of a filler pack. There's a real lack of consistency when it comes to what makes up each different themed building set. One style of roof will have X number of variants, while another style of roof only has Y number of variants. Same with walls, flat roofs and other building pieces. If they don't intend to share the textures they used then I'd love to see the addition of the missing 1/4 and 1/2 width walls in every style. Yes, these pieces probably should have been included when these sets originally came out, but they weren't and are sorely lacking.

Include a couple sets of these missing building pieces along with a variety of missing flat rides, and in my opinion that would be a dlc I'd be interested in getting.

I'd save the idea of a larger 'expansion pack' for something that really expands the game in a direction it's not currently going in right now. They have worked with Universal before in this game. Perhaps a full 'Universal' expansion with new rides specifically themed to Universal properties, including signage, characters, props, etc.? A full fledged themed expansion with at least 6-7 flats, a couple coasters, maybe a new system to simulate theater/arena style presentations with audiences, like for Shrek 4D?

A 'Disney' themed expansion is doubtful, but there's other themed properties out there that might also work...

It is, in my opinion, time for real expansion pack. One, that will bring you gameplay features and change the game a little bit. Just more rides and scenery won´t do that for me honestly.

Reading your comments, i came up with another idea: Business Pack. They could add a really management system including light and wáter taxes, pollution, a more complex staff system, competition with other "country" Parks, making deals with companies to supply food/brands or even artists for live shows... And of course: new rides! And they could even add offices working as ministries: one of them in charge of shops, another in economy, visitors, rides, shows and events…

What do you think if we make a summary of every expansion pack that comes to our minds and vote them later? If you're in, we could give it 2 weeks to present as many expansion packs as we can think. That way we could see What forum players stand for [big grin]

They won't put gameplay changes in a DLC, that's for sure.
Gameplay changes have already been made and put in the free updates that accompany the DLC's.

Gameplay is a very wide definition, so it would help to be more specific than just asking for "gameplay changes".

I've been waiting to manage stock for the shops for a LONG time now. Have vendors walk around the park too. have shops run out of product or close and open on a set schedule. If you didn't like this type of play have a way to turn it off before you even start the game. To me Planet Coaster isn't a tycoon type game. I was disappointed because thats what I wanted when I bought it. I like Survivor's idea. a Business Pack. Throw random events into the game where it effects attendance or something. the weather would have been big but I guess they can't do that so. Opening and closing times for park maybe . You could set challenges{is this in the game I haven't played in awhile} that you have to have this or that in so many days and each time your park opens and closes it counts as a day when I say close I mean empty out. Have a event area where large groups come to the park there is just so much that could be done with what PC all ready has in it I just hope its going that way. I don't think it will though. I like the restaurants and hotels that was pretty cool but add management to it . I would pay for it. I have paid for everything they have done even though I don't play that type of game. I'm so glad they did picnic tables that was one of my biggest wants.

Yes some of my ideas might be redundant and not real I get it. I really like the park closing and all the guest leaving and opening in the morning. I don't know how they would do that. It would be cool to shut the park down for a set amount of time and have events for new rides its just ideas I guess I don't know like I said the whole closing the park probably won't happen because of how the performance would be or whatever but I can hope right.
