Now, what on Earth...?

Hello folks,

these days I wrote a small episode for my CMDR. In order to finish it I'd like to have some background on the developments of or on Earth. I did not find much but I am not a lore specialist so I'd like to take my questions here:

1. Is the administrative center of the Galactic Federation on Earth? If yes, what city?

2. How it Earth government organized? Is it one big unified political entity, several EU or USA like blocks of power? Corporate domination?

3. How much ancient Earth history is 'lost' in time? Do people still know about WW's I, II and III? The Middle Ages? The French Revolution?

4. Does the government 'allow' their people to dabble in old history or is there a shyness about how barbaric Humans once used to be?

Not all may be answered with source and hard facts. Pure conjecture is also most welcome.

1. No. It's on mars.

2. Look at the Minor Factions description in Sol - System. They are all Federal Alligned. So i guess it is safe to say, the Federation is the unique superpower there, while in it there are different political concepts.

3. it doesn't look as if. from some tourist beacons (search for a thread collecting the descriptions) i have seen no concrete reference to anything before 2100...

exampels: "Based in Aymiay at a University, with two further institutions on mars and Beta Hydri, the Revised Catholic Mission grew out of one of a select few older religions and has tried to update its tenets to reflect the changing nature of interstellar society. The old religious values of pre-space-travel Earth could not cope with the scientific progress of the 3rd and 4th millennium. most notable the "What is Interpol" beacon in that context. on the other hand most stations are named after 19th and 20th century scientist and politicians (and some actors), some even more back, and i think that will come with some remembering... a bit like our picture of archimedes or cleopatra for exampel.
