I’ll be honest, im really excited for the new update for JWE2. What i like to call the Sandbox Update. On March 8th, you will now have access to all maps and dinosaurs and dinosaur skins. You basically unlock everything immediately unlike the present where you have to work your way through Chaos Theory and Challenge Mode. But… what’s the point of Challenge Mode and Chaos Theory? They are completely useless. You have everything. You have no need to go to those modes. I’m happy but disappointed at the same time you know. What is your view of this?

Challenge Mode is still necessary for unlocking the reward skins. The Chaos Theory missions have narrative goals that aren't in Sandbox. They still have purposes.
You could always play them because you want to... just saying...
Wait, all skins will be available???? All that time and effort beating challenge mode on Jurassic WASTED! Haha, I don't mind, it was fun and as others mentioned, I did go for achievements also but the underlining message of your post is: What is next? I'm on console so I'm not as inclined to make beautiful maps without the proper graphics and precision of a mouse. More mission based modes would be great personally, until I move to PC to upgrade my visual experience.
Not wasted. It's clearly stated in the update notes that challenge skins will not be unlocked so you still have to beat that to get those.
As far as OP goes: I'm with the others. Those modes are so not useless now because you can still go play them whenever you want, be it for the story or different feel of it. Hell, PZ has 5 different modes as well and I play all of them depending on what I feel like and those didn't even unlock stuff at first and only later got the statues as rewards, much like the challenge skins in JWE2 now. So yeah, those additional modes are not useless now just because you aren't forced to play them to unlock basic stuff anymore.
The point is to have fun.
If you don't like those modes. Then you are free to just skip them. If you do like those modes, then have fun!
They are their own gameplay modes, that is the incentive.
You have more variety in gameplay options, if you want the constraints and narrative that comes with Chaos Theory/Campaign, then you can do that whereas with Challenge Mode it is finally going to behave like a proper Challenge Mode. There are special conditions that go above and beyond other modes that challenge you to meet objectives and build a park in very unusual and unique ways. Sandbox having research and expeditions now means we finally have our custom/free mode or you can just straight up do creative things without restraint. I don't think we really lost anything, but just gained with this update.

I'm looking forward to the new update. Hey Frontier... how about about adding a fix so the game stops crashing on PS4! Maybe I should just send it back to you so you can play it on PS4 and see how you like saving your game every 5 minutes! Fix this game!
