So many of you might remeber in 1.01 when FD nerfed the ammount of stars in the background of ED because a few low end users could not run it right.
instead of adding an ultra low setting they nerfed it for everyone.
I dont think they were 100% wrong for doing this as I noticed sometimes no matter what system someone has they will use ultra and still moan when it does not work.
Anyway I found a fix and have been testing it.
This is not about every tweak but about the ones that fix the galaxy map and as a resault the background.
so first of all you must find the GraphicsConfiguration.xml located in your elite dangerous folder.
Then you have so mime the intro to FFE and look into a mirror for about 5 mins , this step is very important.
In the GraphicsConfiguration
(that I recomend using Notepad++ , its realy good)
anyway here are the values you want to edit (well I guess you want to , thats up to you)
Find galaxy background and find the preset you use (low , meduim or high)
You will see a number , and change it to 4096.
however I only recomend you do that if you have no performance issues in space.
Effect :GalaxyBackground
PRO: Makes the galaxy look less blurry
CON:None that I can tell
Effect :NebulasCount
PRO:Makes more nebula spawn in map
CON: None that I can tell
Effect :NebulasInBackgroundCount
PRO:Makes more nebula spawn in background
CON: some nebula may look more transparent (far away ones)
Effect: starInstanceCount
PRO:MY GOD ! ITS FULL OF STARS ! increases the ammount of stars , its great.
CON:I guess if you have a phobia of stars , or a bad PC dont use this
EXAMPLE :
<GalaxyBackground>
<High>
<LocalisationName>$QUALITY_HIGH;</LocalisationName>
<TextureSize>4096</TextureSize>
</High>
</GalaxyBackground>
EXAMPLE :
</Environment>
<GalaxyMap>
<High>
<LocalisationName>$QUALITY_HIGH;</LocalisationName>
<NebulasCount>1000</NebulasCount>
<NebulasInBackgroundCount>1000</NebulasInBackgroundCount>
<LowResNebulasCount>16</LowResNebulasCount>
<HighResNebulasCount>1</HighResNebulasCount>
<LowResNebulaDimensions>64</LowResNebulaDimensions>
<HighResNebulaDimensions>256</HighResNebulaDimensions>
<LowResSamplesCount>35</LowResSamplesCount>
<HighResSamplesCount>138</HighResSamplesCount>
<MilkyWayInstancesCount>16000</MilkyWayInstancesCount>
<LocalDustBrightness>0.0</LocalDustBrightness>
<MilkywayInstancesBrightness>1.0</MilkywayInstancesBrightness>
<MilkywayInstancesSize>1.0</MilkywayInstancesSize>
<MilkyWayInstancesOffscreenRTEnabled>false</MilkyWayInstancesOffscreenRTEnabled>
<StarInstanceCount>80000</StarInstanceCount>
</High>
</GalaxyMap>
PICS :
The first two are with more stars.
You cant see a big difference but when you zoom its present. I play in 4K (supersamples) so in game you notice extra baby stars in the background
And now the nebula edit :
