NPC AX Ships destroyed by Interceptors but charge me with Murder +Notoriety = 2hr gameplay lockout ?!

Anyone else having a super annoying trend of this happening to them?


Like, running 2 x class 1 turreted beams, thermal vents.. and an AX ship gets lightning sucked onto an interceptor or passes across the path of the beam..
Then gets executed by the interceptor or whatnot and I am charged with murder?!
This just keeps happening and happening... and its getting real, real, real old, real quick.

How come this is suddenly happening at such a great frequency? Ya, know... honestly... WHY is this suddenly happening AT ALL?

I wish they would drop the C&P completely in these zones. It does nothing to stop ganking but it does make life miserable for everyone else.

Guessing that its either mis applying the damage after your beam hits or your beam just happens to take the final point of health and thus YOU become the killer despite the 99% damage done by other means.
 
The turrets are your problem unfortunately. They're not 100% on target and don't stop firing if some blind NPC flies across the path of the beam. That's the down side to having AI do all of the targeting, especially when you can't see where you're shooting.

I remember on my Cutter I'd frequently have system security attacking me after they'd jumped in to help kill of a pirate who had interdicted me. As soon as I switched to a fixed/gimballed set up it stopped. I can only assume the same thing is happening.
 
This happens without turrets too, NPCs need to turn off crimes in AX CZs or stop flying into beams.

There is an easy workaround: Die, go to prison, pay your bounty. The only thing notoriety prevents you from is using an interstellar factor. It is hardly a lockout.

And no, you will not lose any bonds or fail any AX missions you have taken. Just fight until you get blown up, pay your bounty at the rebuy screen and return to the battlefield. And if you do AX the rebuy should not be an issue either. If it is, turn in your hoarded bonds.
 
This is a really annoying thing. I had my last three AX-runs cancelled by this. It always happens when the Hydras drop in. Please, FDEV, make the AX NPCs turn their crimes report off.
 
Add the "friend or foe" experimental to turrets/weapons and the problem goes away.
-getting a bounty for an accidental hit ofc needs fixing tho.
 
It is obviously broken, but untill any change if I have accident bounty in AX I just eat rebuy, spawn in prison without bounty, and return to CZ, which is (at least for me) 2/3 jumps away.

Of course it require other people in instance to hold it, but it's something.
 
Voted. This happened to me twice the other day. I don't even use turrets, the NPC just flew between me and the Interceptor, and then when the NPC died ten mins later I got the murder charge.
