Ships NPC-controlled SLF's

Hi,

I'm about to equip a Krait MkII for some bounty hunting & combat in general (PVE). Though I'm not sure if I should build in a fighter bay.
My plan is to "hire-and-fire" NPC's (hiring an NPC, do some combat, firing the NPC before redeeming bounty vouchers) to gain full cash for myself. Therefor I wanted to ask which "level" of NPC's should I hire? Is it enough to hire harmless pilots, or are they so weak that I won't get any benefit of?

Or would you rather recommend to not use SLF's at all and rather equip another combat module (like hull reinforcment e.g.)?

I'm currently flying with a deadly NPC and she can take down ships by herself with a fixed beams Taipan.

Hire the highest rank if you plan to fire them before redeeming vouchers. Hire the lowest if you decide to keep them for a looong time.

Flying a SLF yourself is also very funny

Harmless are pretty useless. Experts are ok. But for real combat prowess you want deadly and above. The difference is significant. I've got an Elite and she is worth every credit.

At the end of the day, its only 10% for an Elite if you train them up, and credits are not exactly a concern these days. What does it matter if they have taken 100 million if you have earned a billion?

Even better is giving your Elite pilot this and telling it to "attack target."
You'll see why FD doesn't give engineered NPCs good outfits.

Everything dies and you may become wanted in several systems for employing a Weapon of Mass Destruction.

I had planned to make a rail vette for my slf pilot a while ago but kinda forgot about when I realized I didnt have enough eng mats on hand at the time. This was before those g4/g5 crystal sites where discovered, but now I guess I'll get back on to building that vette when I next head out to the crystals for a raw mat refill.

Does the pilot make use of the afmu if needed, while flying the conda?

One piece of advice.
Them NPC pilots have no knowledge about ammo conservation so they will throw everything to their enemies, including seismic charges and sub-surface missiles :D

So if you use ammo based weapons, check them closely
