NPC Explorers

There is a USS that you *could* drop into, I forget which it is these days... but it should be on the outer edge of the inhabited bubble that features some *NPC* explorers discussing what they will go out and find...

But that's the closest I have found to what you are probably talking about...

So all NPC's agree with your limited view do they? How wonderfully self-aggrandizing.

Woah, kudos to you commander, wonderful use of the word “aggrandizing”!

I honestly don’t know how the NPC’s feel, but their lack of exploring speaks volumes, does it not? I see them out mining, out pirating, out bounty hunting, I see them trading, I even see them out flying cruise ships carrying passengers all over (and keeping their coms on global chat far too often), but I do not see them out exploring deep space.

Seems to me like they just don’t like it? :D

You don't see anyone while exploring, including real CMDRs. If i jumped into a system with an actual Cmdr I'd probably poop a little :p. But it's not a bad idea op

Except in tourist spots. The two times I dropped in to Sag. A* I met another commander there.

Judging by the number of wrecks and cargo canisters I used to find on my travels, I'm guessing they just aren't very good at it.

lol, yes, it was a very littered galaxy for a while. Fortunately that issue seems to have been fixed.

Yeah, it's a "Convoy Dispersal Pattern - Threat 0" USS.
Typical NPC Chat in there :
"To boldly go where almost noone has gone before!"
"Let's head out there!"
"I wonder what we'll find today?"

the npcs are the faceless masses. the ones who do the dreary day to day stuff - us in other words as we are in real life. in the game the players are the famous/infamous, apart from the politicians -as always they are a class of their own - so we are the sports stars, the people who explore and in later decades get books written about us, or who bounty hunt when the authorities cannot etc - who run the trade routes the npcs rule out as too risky.

so when you think of npcs, think of yourself in whatever nation you live in real life, and when you think players think of, i dont know, david beckham, pretty much any of the early apollo crews, chuck yaeger, arnold schwarzenegger, or josey wales, billy the kid, OJ Simpson. that kind of range of people. bat masterson, wyatt earp etc.

Probably no programs written specifically fer NPC explorers...normally their pattern is to attack all ships and demand cargo, regardless of whether they even have cargo racks which a lotta explorers dont have...or some...ok well I dont have cargo racks and stuff the rest of ye :p

So anyways, my theory is they got really confused by a number of requirements, like dont attack anything that moves, dont have guns fitted at all, leave the sheild and cargo racks behind and if ye can, take whats left of yer sanityy and lock it away safe where nothing can touch it...elite will destroy everything else including rational though, civil debate and in many cases, common sense.

Maybe they malfuntioned and self ganked with the suicide option after they tried bouncing off a couple black holes...became like agent smith and infected the matrix...

I did have a point at the start but I cant remember what it was and Im rambling now trying to buy time and remember suddenly...and failing...

Still reading this? Hehe sorry bout that ^

Imagine the horror when you discover that beautiful ELW only to find it's been tagged by Beastly Fido... :D

Or Tom Jones...ye leave the system singing 'whats new cat? Wooohahooowaa'

Ah the filter stole the punchline...now I hate this place again...

It is my belief that after discovering "that beautiful ELW" - orbiting a Neutron Star !! - they all buggered off and joined the Judean People's Front - crack suicide squad:eek:

I think the problem is that all the NPC explorers found they'd explored their own belly buttons for so long they couldn't afford pilot's lessons nor a ship of their own, and so we get missions to take a famous explorer + tv crew to visit tourist beacons.
