NPC "Favors"

Right now, responding to a distress beacon to provide fuel to a ship in distress is an interesting bit of interaction, but that is where it ends.

It would be cool if doing so let you have a "favor" from an NPC. And then later, you could call in that "favor" to either get refueled, or get a wingman to help fight with you for awhile, or something.

You could limit it so that any player could only have one "favor" at a time to stop it from getting out of control.

Good idea, but I would go a step further-convert these guys into tier 2 NPC's. So if you save the life of an NPC, then that NPC effectively becomes persistent whilst you're in the game. You can seek them out, ask them for info, call on them for help in combat.....but they behave in a way similar to another player.....so no magical appearing or disappearing, for instance.

Hope that makes sense.
