NPC in the concourse lift!

It happened recently that I was in the concourse of some space port, and there was some NPC walking towards the lifts (to the hangar bay), or rather the corner between the lifts and the wall, and he got stuck there. Funny, but whatever.

However, when I was leaving the concourse and I opened the lift door, the NPC got unstuck from the corner wandered around for a few seconds, and then entered the lift! Never seen that happening before.

Not wanting to waste the opportunity I quickly entered the lift myself too, just to see what would happen. Wouldn't it have been fun to have some NPC walking in the ship hangar? The lift door closed and started to move. To my disappointment, however, when the lift reached the hangar, just before the doors started to open the NPC just disappeared completely. What a pity.

(I'm kicking myself for not taking screenshots of this. It just didn't occur my mind...)

Has this ever happened to you?

(I think the devs should add some NPCs, like some maintenance crew or whatever, wandering in ship hangars. Would add more flavor and realism.)

Speaking of NPCs and them being in places they normally aren't -- I was doing a reboot mission recently in which some scavengers came to say hello, and while combing place for goodies I sprint into a HAB building which I hadn't looted yet and inside I find a scavenger.

Yeah, it's funny. They sometimes lose track of their routine and end up facing or trying to walk into a wall or corner. Whenever I see that I always give them a bump to set them on their way. This is something that's disappointed me about the NPCs. For a company that loves their RNG so much the NPCs always follow the same track; you'd think they might pick a random spot to walk to, have a seat or just lean against a wall or something once in a while.

Ha, NPCs are some real goobers.
Yeah, AI pathing is one of the weaker parts of NPCs. Would really like to see NPC movement, behavior, capabilities, and animation get some useful attention.
