Newcomer / Intro NPC inconsitancies

So I am minding my own business , when I get interdicted by an anaconda, I do my usual thing and boost off until I am out of range and wait for the feds to turn up to make it a fair fight. They arrive and I do a U-turn and start on the anaconda . He has a handsome bounty on him which pleases me , combat starts and he immediately launches a taipan fighter which I despatch with not to much effort . The only problem is that I receive a bounty for killing the ship launched fighter of the anaconda and the feds start on me . The anaconda clearly showed on my scanner as wanted . I would have assumed that the ship launched fighters of wanted vessels would also by default be wanted ? Is this something that anyone else has experienced, is it a bug , or intended gameplay?

I haven't seen this but I suspect it is intended but a very gray area seeing as they have declared ship launched fighters as teleoperated so they are basically radio controlled drones, so destroying them is going to do nothing worse than give the operator a headache.

How it works I think is this, the NPC commander of the ship was wanted as your scan showed but when the fighter was launched it wasn't flown by him it was flown by a hired crew member who wasn't wanted. Which opens up the can of worms what happens if the commander had flown the fighter, it should have been wanted but the Anaconda now flown by the unwanted crew member should have become clean as it is the person at the helm who carries the bounties.

To add another worm to this can what is your status after destroying a ship helmed by a wanted criminal that has innocent crew and or passengers aboard?

Fair enough thanks for the explanation. So all I have to do to avoid fines , bounties and fed hassle is to equip a ship launched fighter and have them carry the can with no consequence to me ?
Sounds a bit like a Nuremburg defence as gameplay!

They should have know better than to cosy up with a crim ?
