NPC Interdiction without followup interactions

I have noticed an increasing situation where system security forces will prompt a message that they are interdicting your ship for various reasons, but once you submit they make no demands, no communication, and do not scan your ship.
I don't recall it always being like this. I thought the NPC security force will preform some action after an interdiction. Or at least use to in the past.
Currently this feels like a waste of time to interdict a player but take no action after the fact, like the event did not happen.

Has it always been like this and i am just remembering wrong?
Or has something changed during one of the updates where NPC interdiction appear far less involved and this is a known bug?

It's been like this for a long time with security force interdictions. They don't even deploy hardpoints to scan, just dither behind you in real space while you fly away.

I presume it's a bug... :)

Yeah they once upon a time scanned you.. which was a nightmare when you had illegal or stolen items on board.

Shame it's not there now.... they would fine you and start attacking, it needs fixing

In the current II, I was getting interdicted by Zende Partner security forces every single time I approached a CZ, there was no message or scan, it all stopped when I'd handed in enough combat bonds to become allied, I just thought they were twitchy?

Do we think reputation with a minor power effects how often local security forces will interdict a player?

I've been getting this for a couple days around the CZs for Zende. They keep stopping me to delay getting them combat bonds. And then don't even scan or say anything.

I think it may. For example, in one specific system which I frequent, when doing things like scanning wakes outside a station within the perimeter... when I was allying up with the controlling faction I used to get warnings that my hard points were deployed when I was using the wake scanner. Now that I’m fully allied with them though, they don’t seem to mind anymore. Perhaps this is a similar behavioral mechanic of security forces?

That very well could be the case.
Before i never really noticed as i would submit to the interdiction then carry on, no big deal.
What made me really think about it was during some thargoid hunting in AX combat zones. I ran out of decontamination limpets and was headed back for repairs when i was pulled out of supercruise by the local security force. Watching that alien spunk eat at my hull while i wait for the local security to do absolutely nothing. "Thanks local rent-a-cop, maybe next time ill just let the bugs have their way with your system while you piddle around interdicting those trying to help."

Yeah, I bug-reported this several years ago, multiple times even.

I think there's still something wrong with their equipment, hence they're physically unable to perform a KWS.
So indeed, they just interdict and then buzz off to no purpose.

PS.
There's already been changes to them...
Their early iterations were hilarious. Back then System Defence Force NPCs were scripted to Interdict - but actually lacked an FSDI.
Thus, they'd end up buzzing around the Player like disoriented flies to no end - unable to Interdict but that didn't keep them from trying xD

If I submit asap, the security ships interdiction bugs out and nothing spawns in the instance with me.
Escape, and the only way to get out of the interdiction is by logging out. For a test, I filled the escape bar and swirled around in super cruise for 12 minutes.

Works a lot better as a deterrent than cops and ATR btw, as I often don't log back in for a few hours.

I don't even get notified that I'm in their sights. I just get interdicted without warning. I always beat the interdiction but it would be nice to have a warning.. The percentage of warnings has reduced an awful lot

Happens in the war state. Military interdict and then do nothing. It's the only one it regularly happens with.

I think its funny that the cops never warn you but the pirates always warn you. In the real world it would probably be just the opposite.
