NPC spawn in mining ring

So there I was, in my python with a hold full of Void Opals. I decided to resume my game, since I saved and quit earlier this day. I start the game, spawn in the place where I left of and within a second I take fire from FIVE SHIPS. All elite, boiled me up within 10 seconds. I had no chance since I was in the middle of the ring, still in the mass lock. So byebye seven hours of Void Opa hunting. Thanks Fdev for this great mechanic. NPC's spawn in a remote system FAAAR out the bubble. Oh did I say spawn? I meant SPAWN OUT OF THIN AIR WITH FIVE AT THE SAME TIME. I'm done with this stupid shz for a while.

Literally within a second of you logging in, they were shooting at you? They must have changed that with the last update because they used to spawn some distance away and fly towards you, giving you blips on the radar, then the usual comedy message from them as they approached, then the time they take to actually scan you, by which time I would already be boosting straight up or down out of the ring to get out of mass lock.

Bug report?

Yeah I'm going to bug report this. The first second there was no one there, all of a sudden I'm surrounded by five dudes who just spawned behind me and all started to shoot at, five messages 'i want 8 ton of your stuff'. All different ships though. Terrible mechanic anyway. The chance that there is somewhere else, at my place, in a giant ring, in normal space, is ASTRONOMICLY small. But though it happens every thing you enter a ring or resume a game. Stuff like this makes my blood boil.

Are you sure there was no "Scan Detected" warning?

I've done a shed load of mining, with a few logins mid session, and it is annoying something always spawns.

But if they're pirates, they've always scanned, or tried to scan, me first.

As soon as the "scan detected" message pops up, I dump a heat sink and run, if I can't take them down.

Anytime you leave the server, either changing modes or quitting and coming back, it resets the instance you're in and spawns at least 1(sometimes 5) NPC's into the ring with you, it's been that way since release. Logging out in a ring, especially with cargo, has always been a bad idea, sucks you lost 7 hours of gameplay but considering how enjoyable mining is nowadays, shouldn't be hard for you to jump back in and get caught back up to where you were.

That being said, if you had put your pips into shields(you should have shields), you would have had enough time to boost up and out, and run for it. I've done it in a T9, a python is much faster, just gotta keep your head.

Due to lag or slow loading into the instance, they may have scanned him while he was still loading into the client on his side. I've had that happen a couple times.

Check your Journal. it'll show you joining the instance, any scans, and the start if combat. If the time between spawning and combat is < 15 secs, I'd be sending in a claim.

I don't have logs, play on Xbox. It did take a REALLY long time for the instance to load. That's probably why I only some dudes spawn and immediately shoot me. I had no chance. I'll make a ticket for this, see if they can do anything.
