NPC stole my mat's with a limpet!! Grrrr.

This was a first and I wish I'd got a pic but I was Bounty Hunting in a Res the other day and out of an Annie popped a nice piece of Imperial Shielding...

I chased after it and just as I was about to suck it up it was pinched by a limpet. I thought for a moment it was the other CMDR but he was 5 KM away.

I followed the limpet and MY mat right back to a NPC Asp mining a nearby 'roid but the limpet got stuck right in front of the Asp's cargo scoop and couldn't be loaded.

I have never seen this before!

Aah, the unjustified sense of entitlement. "MY mat"... Heh. Sorry fellow CMDR. The fact that you killed a target and spotted material doesn't immediately mark it as owned by you. Until it is in your hold, accounted for, it's a fair game for anyone. As hard to swallow it - no one stole anything from you, that NPC just took advantage of the situation and was faster than you. Simple as that.

Being angry for the loss is totally different story.

He he, I'm cool with that, but if it's player or NPC stealing mats from my kill, he's as welcome to stake his equal rights claim as I am to put PA rounds through his canopy.

NPCs Collector Limpets won't distinguish between a 'roid fragment and a material, so they will collect all in it's range, you were just unlucky. The odd thing is that the scoop was not down on the NPC ship given he was mining. That bit may be a bug.
