NPCs and the station entrances

Ya know if we are supposed to go in and out of stations on the green side. FD you need to get the NPCs doing the same. They always come right in and out the center. Lets develop a pattern here. They have been like this all the way from alpha.

You answered your own question in the last sentence

if they have "been like it since alpha" then green and red isn't in and out

hopefully a quick merge to the other 40,000,000,000 posts on the subject

I don't mind where they go thru, it's just they are so slow. The amount of times I've nearly rear-ended one as its dawdling thru the letterbox.

If I'm in my Python or Asp, I will usually just speed up and ram my way through traffic. The other day I hit max throttle and went straight into a sidey, hit it so hard I think it messed up the destruction animation and the thing was just frozen outside the mail slot.

It is. It has been stated by FD. In on green side and out on green side because they are oppositely placed from inside and out. Fd has stated to use them this way but still no change in npc lol. And yeah hate how slow they go and the ones getting stuck. Oh and have fun reading the other 40,000,000,000 posts. You must be new here to see more than one post on a subject huh?

Having worked as a pilot boat coxswain I can confirm that green and red are starboard and port respectively and when two ships approach each other the are supposed to defer starboard of each other. As all space travel in sci-fi is built around the maritime conventions of naval structure, I'd like to see the self proclaimed experts on docking point out why on Earth we should think that this wasn't the intention of FD when they implemented this exact signalling system.

Orientation is utterly irrelevant when leaving a station, so that's a weak reason and cosmetics is even weaker. Until someone can tell me that green and red aren't "defer starboard/port" then I'll assume it is, and it would save some accidents if everyone else did too.

If we're going to play the "I've been here longer than you and have seen this asked too many times before" game, then I'll play too because I can trump 99% of this forum.

Don't insult new members of the forum just because they ask a question that's new to them but old to you. You were new to this forum once as well.
