NPCs and their poor mail slot etiquette

Decided to do a passenger mission. Payout 15M, not bad. Visit all the sites, head back to drop passenger. I'm halfway trough the mail slot, beluga pops up from inside and just hits the gas.
Shields down, hull integrity compromised, mission failed.
I've seen a lot of rude NPCs cutting in line, never saw one completely ignoring the anaconda right in front of them until today.

I watched an Adder's cheese not just slip off his cracker but simultaneously lost all of the marbles in existence as he initiated a full thruster burn just above the mail slot, shields flaring. He manages to leave but the station's security opens up on him. I'm just floating there staring in awe of his stupidity.

Always allow ships to exit the station before enter it, don't trust docking computers and get better shields ;)
Problem solved.

I never used a docking computer, mail slot was free when I passed the ads. Beluga showed up when I was already through the grill thingy. Instead of waiting it just hauled *ss. Must have been in a hurry.

NPC's are not as bad as Cmdrs, some of them think they have the divine right of way through the slot.

I think NPC's have more brain cells than some cmdrs !!!

That's why i use the Cutter, just hit the boost and push everyone back into the station :x

NPC's are scripted by humans :x

CMDRs *do* have divine right of way through the slot - if you hit something head on, at least one of you is going the wrong way.

Yep. If someone gets swatted/destroyed by my Conda or Corvette boosting through the slot then it's their fault for 'driving on the wrong side of the road'. That's what the steady green and red blinkenlights are for!

My other favorite I run into plenty often enough:

Heading out the mail slot at 85, frequently in my python, as I tend to use it often, and here comes some NPC in an Asp at 95, cuts up under me and insists on trying to squeeze through the slot with me. I just want to drop my landing gear and step on them when they do that.

Wrong!, no they don't!! For instance if i am flying out under 100Mps just exiting the slot and this 'bottom hole' decide he/she wants to zoom out above me hitting me and then crashing into the rack and getting stuck there blocking the slot both ways, then says it's my fault.......... Face palm!

Be honest now, how fast were you flying? Must have been blasting through the slot to lose shields on the Anaconda + take hull damage.

I can't tell you how many times AI Belugas have rammed my Cutter when docking. They also ignore the speed limits--had one last week come up behind me (I was doing 98) and then try to slide underneath me, which ended up with me getting pushed into the mailslot ceiling. Then the station has the nerve to tell ME to fly more carefully.

Good thing my cutter doesn't have weaponry, else I'm pretty sure I'd have gotten myself a re-buy. :D

That doesn't really help when it's a Type-9 coming in that takes up both sides of the slot.

And I get the jerks doing the underneath zoom and cut all the time. I want a rear view mirror, and bottom mounted weaponry.

1 time i had my beluga almost thru to inside the mailslot and a ship get stuck inside my wing i had to exit to main menu just to avoid a hostile station i cant afford waste 10mill on a drunk npc. at least before the speed restricktion the npc ships acctualy tryed avoid players when they entered the station.

It's set up for exploration so it only has 3D shields and lightweight alloy for armor. My fault really, added a passenger rack to try passenger missions without changing anything else.
I was flying under 100, the beluga grinded me against the side of the mail slot. Entered through the proper green side. Not angry or anything, just amusing. Spices things up a bit.
